“You already know my answer, Brandi,” I say evenly. “You’re not my Old Lady.”
“I could be. I bet we could have a lot of fun together,” she says seductively, running one long nail over my knuckles.
I pull away. “You’ll have to set your sights on someone else, Brandi. I’m not interested in an Old Lady.”
Her eyes flash in annoyance at my rejection, but she just gives me a tight smile and turns away. At least she has enough of a brain to not push me too far. I turn and head towards the table where King has slid in beside Sage and whispering in her ear. From the heat in her cheeks, I have a feeling it’s not something I want to hear.
“Ladies,” I say loudly enough to be heard over the noise. They all grin up at me, eyes bright, already buzzed, and well on their way to drunk. Even Syn, though I see she currently has water in her hand and not another alcoholic one. “I heard you’re already causing trouble. Do we need to worry about having to throw your asses out?”
Mom scoffs. “I’d like to see you try, boy. Your father likes me drunk, remember?”
“Way more than I want to,” I mutter. I glance at Raven and Leonora. “At least you two were smart enough to bring your men along to keep your asses in line.”
Raven laughs outright. Tonight she’s left her hair down, giving it a tousled look and some smokey make-up. Still, there is no missing she’s still a ball buster, and when she gets pissed, watch out. Her dark eyes flash with humor at me, and she says, “Sloan just didn’t want me to be left alone because he’s worried about the next prank I’ll pull.”
“What did you do this time?” Raven and Sloan have a habit of pranking each other, and Sloan never comes out on top, no matter how hard he tries. The woman is far too devious, and I’ve seen the shit she pulls, so I know I don’t want to be on the receiving end.
“I put fake spiders all through his underwear drawer,” she grins wickedly. “He screamed like a girl when he first opened the drawer. Talking about how we needed to call an exterminator.”
I shake my head. “He’s going to kick your ass to the curb if you don’t watch out.”
Raven scoffs. “The man loves sex far too much for that.” She glances at Leonora Lincoln, who is Sloan’s mother. “Apparently he gets that from his father.”
Leonora gives her a sly grin. It’s no secret how forthcoming these women are about their sex lives. Or the fact that Leonora doesn’t have any problems knowing her children are having sex themselves. Probably helps she loves everyone they’ve picked. Asa’s the only one who hasn’t found his woman yet, but I have a feeling that will be changing soon.
Leonora is a stunner, and married to one of the richest men in the country. She’s a five foot eight blonde bombshell with bright blue eyes, and a mouth that gets her into far too much trouble. No one would think that a woman of Leonora’s social stature would spend her Saturday night in a biker bar, and be so friendly with us, but that’s exactly how it works. The downside? She and Mom are best friends and they do the crazy shit that drives us all quietly insane.
“Speaking of sex lives,” my mother says loudly. “What about you, Torque? We need to find you a woman.”
“I’m not discussing my sex life with my mother,” I tell her firmly. “Nope.” She closes the mouth she just opened to complain. “Now, I’m going to go and see some of the brothers, so you girls need to behave.”
“He’s also saying that because he has a lady friend coming tonight and he’s warned her about you,” King chimes in. The shit eating grin on his face has me glaring at him.
“What the fuck, man?” I snap at him when the women immediately turn to me, eyes wide, and questions flying out of their mouths.
“Who is she?” my mother demands.
“She’s coming here? Tonight?” Raven asks.
“Is she gorgeous?” Leonora demands.
Sage laughs. “You poor bastard,” she taunts. “You’re screwed now.”
Syn gives me a sympathetic look. “Your first mistake was telling King.”
“Hey!” King says, looking offended and narrowing his eyes at Syn. “I was there when he asked. It’s not like I was eavesdropping.”
I don’t bother saying anything. I just turn and walk towards where the men are talking. Dad gives me an amused smile, and the rest are smirking at me. “Your first mistake was going over there in the first place,” Dad remarks when I take a long pull of my beer.
“Yeah, I know,” I sigh. I glance at Simon and Sloan. “You couldn’t have locked those two crazies down tonight?”
“Have you met them?” Sloan laughs. “They do what they want. Well, that and I don’t dare leave Raven alone because I need a break from the pranks.”
“Why the hell do you keep pranking each other anyway?” Stone asks him. “Wouldn’t you rather, you know, act like grown ups?”
“Where’s the fun in that?” Sloan scoffs. “Not to mention, the sex after is worth it.”
I roll my eyes. “All you paired up men need to grow some balls back, or stop thinking with them. Between you and the women all I hear about is how much you all love going at it. I’m shocked there aren’t more kids running around this place.”
