“Or they’re already here in the clubhouse,” I say grimly. By the looks on their faces, they’ve already come to the same conclusion.

“Question is, how do we draw them out?” King asks. “There is no way we can keep this a secret from the rest of the brothers. So how do we tell them without showing our hand?”

“We tell them we have a mole and we’re going to get to the bottom of who it is,” Dad drawls darkly.

“I agree,” Sniper says icily. “There’s more to this than the mob a hit. First it was Sage and now Izzy. Any woman we bring in could be in danger, and we need to make sure they never get another chance.”

“This is so fucked up,” I growl, scrubbing my hands over my face in frustration. “These are our brothers, and one of them is betraying us. For what? To prove a point?”

“When we find the mole, we’ll get our answers. Someone either went to the mob to fuck us, or the mob recruited them to fuck us,” Shadow suggests. “We’re in the way of something, and we need to figure what and who is out to get us.”

I one hundred percent agree with him.

Which is why when we walk into Church twenty minutes later, I watch every man in the room as Dad stands and puts his hands on the table, leaning forwards, his gaze icy. “Brothers, I hoped to never say these words, but it looks like we have a traitor in our midst. Again.” The room is silent as everyone stares at him. A few have wide eyes, other’s just clench their jaws. Some give nothing away. “Last night, Torque’s woman was attacked in his room and injected with a deadly combination of cocaine and heroin then left for dead.

“Shadow and Viper investigated, and the same conclusion was made by both. Whoever did this to Izzy was in this very building, and when I find out who, they will be very sorry.” He looks around the table, stopping on each individual member. “When we started this club, it was a fucking mess, and Bull nearly killed us all. Had we not fought hard and restructured to be where we are now, we would still be in that life. I would be in jail or in the damn ground. I will not let us go back to that. Not while I’m President of this club or while I’m still breathing.

“So when I find out who did this, who betrayed us, and who dared to harm anyone under this roof, I will gladly show them why I left that life behind. Left that man behind, because he is not someone you fuck with,” he snarls furiously. “This is the one and only warning. You are a brother or you aren’t, and you stand for what we believe in. If you don’t, I will send you to meet the Devil himself.”

The tension in the air is thick as he slowly sits back down. No one utters a word. No one dares.

I look around and add, “I want to make it clear too. Izzy is mine. She will wear my patch, but right now the only thing I care about is her coming home and getting better. Anyone disrespects her, or treats her in any way other than with the respect of an Ol’ Lady, will answer to me.”

“She afraid to come back here?” Hammer asks quietly.

“I don’t know,” I say honestly. “Right now she’s just glad to be alive and her mentor is here so that will help. Medic’s made it clear she might not be out of the woods yet. We need to make sure there is no permanent damage, and we need to watch her for signs of addiction.”

“Addiction?” Dagger asks in surprise.

I nod. “It was a high dose, and you can get addicted to either of them even if you only try it once. She might be fine, but only time will tell.”

“Shit,” Dagger hisses. “Sorry, man, that sucks. Addiction is no joke. My cousin overdosed when I was a kid.”

“Thanks,” I say tightly.

“Izzy say if she saw this guy?” Hulk asks.

I shake my head. “Just that it was a dark figure. She was out by the time she hit the floor.” Hulk nods.

“When’s she coming home?” Timber asks.

“Medic said she might be released today.”

A few more questions are asked, but the mood is subdued. By the time Church is over and everyone files out, I don’t miss the suspicious looks everyone is aiming at each other. No one wants to think of someone they’re close to being a traitor, but right now, that’s the only thing that makes sense.

“You heading back to the hospital as soon as you get the call?” Dad asks me.

I nod. I glance at my watch. “I figure probably within the next hour.”

“I think you should switch rooms,” Shadow suggests quietly. “You and Izzy stay in her room. Might not be so hard on her.”

I agree with him. “I’ll move my shit, cause you’re probably right. We’re going to have to look at getting a place. I don’t want to leave her alone around here.”

“At least until we know if our mole is going to strike again,” Stone agrees.

“You could move in with us,” King offers. “House is plenty big enough.”

“I doubt Izzy would be comfortable with that. I’ll talk to her and we can figure something out. She has an apartment near the shop so we could stay there.”

“For now, plan on bringing her here, and we’ll make sure she’s got someone we trust on her at all times,” Dad assures me. “I meant what I said. I want to find this mole and snuff him out. It’s time to go hunting, boys, and I for one am ready to show him what a Devil’s Soldier really is.”
