“Damn it, who told him?” Leonora pouts. “That would have been funny to watch.”

Stone smirks. “You ladies don’t realize how loud you are when you’re drinking do you? We can hear your plans from the other side of the room.”

“Told you you had a big mouth,” Syn says pointedly to Sage. Sage scowls at her and flips her off.

“Heard you ran into Izzy again,” Mom says abruptly, changing the subject and looking at me expectantly.

“Isn’t Izzy that one from the bar?” Raven asks, looking at me curiously.

“One and the same,” Syn supplies. “I like her. So don’t screw it up.”

I glare at her. “What the hell do you mean don’t screw it up? How is there anything to screw up when we’re not together? She’s hot, we have chemistry, and I’m not about to complain if we end up in bed together.”

“She is hot,” Stone agrees. “At least if she gets bored while you’re going at it you have the subject of work to fall back on.”

Everyone snickers and I glare at him. “Fuck off,” I say without much heat.

“I swear I’m never getting grandchildren,” Mom moans dramatically. “These two just want to screw around,” pointing between King and Sage. Then she points at Stone and I. “You two just want to screw around instead of settling down with a good woman. Might as well just get a damn blow up doll and be done with it.”

“Don’t give them any ideas,” Raven drawls sarcastically.

“What are you talking about? You aren’t giving them any either,” I oh so helpfully point out. Raven sckewers me with a glare.

“Good point,” Mom says. Both she and Leonora look at Raven expectantly.

Raven eyes them and then looks at me. “I hate you,” she says simply. “Enough that I think I need some new brothers. I’ll have to start asking for volunteers.”

“Not it!” Shadow hollers. A few other brothers, who have obviously overhead, all do the same.

“Assholes,” Raven cries angrily.

“You’re not getting out of this,” Mom warns her. “I need some grandbabies to spoil. You have a hot man and you two are going at it like bunnies, so why am I not seeing any babies?”

Since Raven is on the hot seat, I quickly make my way upstairs to my room, snickering. And here I thought having a little sister wouldn’t be any fun. Guess I was wrong.

I enter my room and head for the shower. I need to sleep, and then maybe tomorrow I can have my head on straight on what I’m going to do about Izzy. The idea of my own woman isn’t as awful as it used to be, and if I’m honest with myself, the only woman who could even come close to filling that position would be Izzy.

That alone should make me want to run for the hills, but instead, I stand under the hot water in my shower and think about just what that would mean, and why I’m not panicking.
