FIFTY
IZZY
I have never been more grateful for Torque and my new family.
I sigh happily at the feeling of the warm water and gentle pulses on my feet. Sage wasn’t kidding that Syn loves her spa stuff, because she has some state-of-the-art shit. “I’m pretty sure this is what heaven feels like,” I moan. I open my eyes and look over at Syn and ask, “I might switch teams just for this. But it’ll have to be our little secret so Torque doesn’t get upset.”
Syn snorts, as the other girls laugh. “Sure thing, sweet cheeks,” she says with a lewd once over of my body before she winks.
Rose snorts. “I really want to be there when you tell him, though. That shit would be hilarious.”
I grin. “He’d understand.”
“That you’re going from dick to pussy?” Viper snorts as he comes to stand a few feet away, arms crossed over his broad chest. “I don’t think so, honey. Be hot to watch, but your man ain’t about to share.” Then he looks over at Syn and gives her a salacious wink. “But you and me, honey, I bet we would have a good time.”
Syn smirks at him. “You think you can handle a woman like me, big guy?” she purrs at him.
Viper grins widely. “I can take anything you throw at me. All you gotta do is say the word and I’ll come running.”
“Don’t go running at her when her demons are out,” Twigs hollers from the other side of the room, obviously eavesdropping. “Not unless you want your cock to be their next bone.”
Syn rolls her eyes. “You guys are acting like my dogs are some kind of menace. They’re sweet as can be.”
“Unless you’re wearing a bite suit,” Sage mutters.
Syn smirks at her. “Stop pissing me off and I won't make you put it on.”
As the two of them bicker, I relax back into the couch and smile to myself. I might not like lazing around, but I won’t lie, this is damn nice. Especially since it’s clear I’ve made some new girlfriends. They’ve been spending time with me, bringing me things, making sure I’m comfortable. It’s amazing and humbling. I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone do that for me.
Hell, at one point Rose came up when I was just about to fall back asleep for a quick nap and tucked me in and kissed my head like I was a little kid. I didn’t move, but when she left, I let the tears fall. It was such a caring gesture, and one I had no idea I missed or craved so much. Hell, even if Torque and I don’t work out for some reason, I’m still going to claim his mom.
“I think your feet should be done,” Syn announces, pulling me from my thoughts. “Lift them out and I’ll do them.”
“You don’t have to do that,” I protest.
She gives me a mock pleading look. “But if I’m doing yours I don’t have to work on her feet,” she says with a nod towards Sage. “She kicks me.”
“I wouldn’t kick you if you didn’t purposely tickle me,” Sage sniffs. “You know the consequences.”
I chuckle. “Sure, okay,” I agree, lifting my feet out.
“You know, we really should plan a girls’ night,” Rose remarks thoughtfully. “An actual girls’ night where we can stay here, drink, watch some terrible rom coms and bash the men. And of course invite the rest of the girls.” She glances at Sage. “Maybe Alice will come down for it. We could make it a…”
“No,” Shadow barks loudly, crossing the room towards us.
Rose turns her head to glare at him. “Excuse me?” she says icily.
Not the least bit phased, Shadow glares at her. “You heard me, woman,” he barks. “You all together is enough to give me gray hairs for a lifetime, and there is not enough bail money in the world to get you all out of trouble.”
“What the hell kind of trouble do you think we’re going to get into?” Rose demands, crossing her arms and glaring at him.
“Social worker. Jail time. Guns. Need I go on?”
“Oh please, I don’t know who told you about the guns, but…”
“I watched the damn video,” Shadow interrupts. “The lot of you get together, it’ll be a cold day in hell before I let you near any weapons or ammunition.”
“Are you always a drama queen?” Sage asks curiously. “It’s a girls’ night. Like Rose said, it’s movies, girl talk, and man bashing. Or are you worried about us taking over your little space down here? Not ready to hear what we have to say?” she taunts. “Worry it’s going to hurt your wittle feewings?”
