“I’m so sorry I hurt you. I love you so much. I wanted to say it that morning. I just freaked out. If you can’t forgive me, I understand.”
“Babe, I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I let you go.” Kyle picked Callie up and wrapped her in his arms.
“Kyle, my feet are dangling off the ground like a puppet’s. I’m sure I look ridiculous.”
“I don’t care. You’re mine and I want everyone to know it. It’s been too long since I’ve kissed those beautiful lips of yours. They’re best friends. Don’t you know they’ve missed each other?”
“Well, what are you waiting for? Don’t you think they should get reacquainted?”
With a smile, Kyle tenderly put Callie down, pulled her to him, and planted a soft kiss on her lips. Wanting more, Callie pulled him to her as he was starting to pull away, kissing him as if he was oxygen and she needed air in the most desperate way possible. To her embarrassment, Callie’s cheer squad started issuing cat calls their way.
“Get a room!” Tiffany yelled.
“Quit playing tonsil hockey!” Sarah added.
“Maybe now you’ll quit moping and learn this number!” Vanessa called.
“I’m assuming he had a very good reason for what happened and an even better apology!” Aria shouted.
Her lips still on Kyle’s, Callie laughed, “I guess I better get back to learning this dance.”
With a sigh, he finally broke away from her, but not before rubbing his nose against hers and curling a strand of her hair around his finger, a sign of affection Callie had grown to love.
“Maybe now you’ll stop sucking it up on the floor,” she said with a smile.
“Maybe you’ll learn your dance numbers,” he said right back.
“I love you.”
“Finally she admits it!”
“I just admitted it, asshole!”
“I know. I just wanted to give you a hard time.”
“Fair.”
“I love you, too. Just remember, I said it first.” With a kiss to the top of her head, he walked back down the tunnel.
