“I can’t believe I was so stupid. Why didn’t I just tell him I loved him, too?”
“Because you’re an idiot. Didn’t we already discuss this?”
Cassie slapped Aria in the butt with her purse.
“Not helping!” she told her. “Besides, you’re here to fix it. So twenty minutes from now, you’ll be all cozy with your man and Aria and I will be—”
“At the bar, having some hot New Yorkers buy us drinks!”
“I was going to say in our room, waiting for the yay! text from you, but I guess I’m the only one that will be there doing that.”
“Um, lawyer lady, you are in New York. I’m not letting you hole up in a fancy hotel room, waiting on a text from our friend saying her love life with her professional basketball player boyfriend is back on track. That’s why man invented cell phones. She can text us while some hotties are buying us drinks!”
Cassie rolled her eyes.
“Good luck with that one,” Callie told Cassie.
“Good luck with your man,” Cassie responded with a wink.
With a sigh and a squaring of her shoulders, Callie walked up the steps of the hotel to go utter three little words. She just hoped Kyle still wanted to hear them.
