“You friggin’ heifer!” Kyle yelled, holding his head and kicking his cat out of the way, Garth meowing in protest before darting out the door.

At his comment, Callie couldn’t hold her laugh back anymore. She clutched her stomach and fell back on the bed, laughing hysterically.

“Callie! It’s not funny! What if I have a concussion?”

Her laughter immediately ceased. “I’m sorry. What if you do? Do we need to call someone?”

Kyle looked at her, a serious look on his face. “I don’t know. Let me just lay down for a second.”

Callie leaned back on his pillows and shifted over to make room for him on the bed. “Let me look at it.”

Kyle put his head on her stomach and she began probing his temple where it collided with the dresser. “I don’t see anything. How does it feel? Do you feel sick to your stomach or anything?”

While Callie had been talking, Kyle had worked his way up her body until his head was perched between her breasts. He was now using them for his personal pillow. With a sigh and a smile, he responded. “Actually, I think I’m feeling much better now. Doesn’t even hurt anymore really. It’s a miracle.”

Callie smiled. “I bet it is. I didn’t know my boobs had healing power.”

“Well, they do. And they don’t even suffocate me or anything. I like ’em. Probably even more than that freckle.”

“Surprise, surprise. Just like a man.” But when Kyle began kissing each one just to show her how thankful he was for the healing power of her breasts, she agreed with him one hundred percent. She was very glad he liked them better than her freckle, too.

“Meow,” they heard coming from the doorway.

“Garth, I swear, I’m going to-” Kyle stopped kissing her to look to where the meowing had originated.

Trisha was standing in the doorway of the bedroom, holding a leftover fajita container from Ted’s in her mouth.

Callie began laughing. “Where on earth did she even get that?”

Kyle jumped off the bed. “Oh, no you don’t, you heifer,” he muttered, taking the container out of her mouth. “You already threw up in my car. You’re not throwing up in the house, too.”

“At least it would be easier to clean off the concrete floors,” Callie said with a smile.

Kyle pointed her way. “Don’t even get me started, missy. You’re the reason she’s even in my house.”

“I don’t know what you mean,” she responded innocently.

“Yeah, yeah,” Kyle muttered, walking out the door.

“Hey! Where are you going?” she called to his retreating back.

“To throw this container away before Trisha eats everything in it and gets sick! I’ll be right back. You and your freckles stay put!”

Callie had no intention of going anywhere. She snuggled back into the mountain of pillows behind her and closed her eyes, sighing in contentment. Kyle’s bed felt like a cloud.

“Who’s that pretty lady in my bed?” Callie heard him say softly from the doorway. She opened her eyes, smiling as she saw him leaning on the doorjam.

“You know, just your neighborhood NBA cheerleader, here to test out the comfort level of your mattress.”

“And how does my mattress rate on the scale of comfort?” he asked, kicking the door shut with his foot and walking her way.

“Heavenly,” she said breathlessly.

“Now, before we were so rudely interrupted by my cat and your Gremlin of a thing you call a cat, I believe I had said something about your panties matching that fantastic bra.”

“You did,” she said, feeling shivers run up her stomach as his hand blazed a trail up her stomach, outlining the underwire of her bra.

“Care if I take a peek?”
