Chapter 20

Questions Answered

Alexander’s POV

Tagon was still unconscious but breathing as we entered the room. Both males from the patrol earlier were gone. Her clothes looked like they did earlier so at least they didn’t take advantage of her while alone down here. That’s good. Aspen and Maddox stood in the doorway soaking in the surroundings of the cell before entering and closing the door. Tagon was bound with silver shackles attached to silver chains hooked to the walls. The skin on her wrist had already started to melt off. Like clockwork, she woke up screaming. Her screams would haunt the weak’s nightmares as bloodcurdling failed to describe it. She tried to get up and run but her ankles were also bound which caused blood to spray the ground as the silver cut more skin off.

“Tagon.” This was the coldest I’d ever spoken and yet I didn’t care. I wanted to be there for this kid. Yet here we are. She stopped fighting the chains and stared at me, tears poured from her eyes due to the pain she was in.

“Just tell us who called and what plans were made. You can leave if you give in.” It was a lie; she wouldn’t leave this cell alive regardless of the information she gave. I just didn’t want her to know that. What a shame that a kid has been drugged into the middle of this I sighed.

“Why do you care?” She said weakly to me. That’s odd. I’m the beta of this pack. I will always care what happens to it and its members, she knows this.

“It’s my job to care about this pack.” I was dumbfounded by her. What the hell does she mean why do I care? I’m the fucking beta I will always care about this pack. Yet all Tagon did was give me a smirk as if she would do anything to set me off.

“Like you cared when you killed my parents thirteen years ago!” Her anger pierced me as she shouted. The only people I killed thirteen years ago were rogues who attacked us. Rogues targeted and killed Rose. No. Tagon was abandoned. She wasn’t orphaned because I killed her parents? My eyes went wide as I stared at her. It was impossible.

“I was three when you killed them. You fucking murderer!” Daggers. That’s what her words felt like. I knew I was a monster. I had the blood of hundreds on my hands and yet her screaming at me made it as though I was to blame completely. I had never taken the life of an innocent person. Not once. I have only been killed in defense of this pack. Now Aspen and Maddox on the other hand.

“Tagon, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I was confused because I don’t remember killing her parents, not that I would know as I don’t know them. Aspen and Maddox looked amused by how things were going.

“My parents were in the attack against this pack. I was told they died directly by your hand. All of you are a bunch of murderers. I hope you all die.” She spat at me. “This pack attacked ours for being near your territory. War broke out and so many families were destroyed.” She started crying as she shouted. What the hell was she talking about? Thirteen years ago, rogues attacked us while we were hunting in our territory. They even attacked our pack homes and killed our luna, Rose. None of this made any sense. If Tagon was lied to that could be why she was helping plan a new attack. Damian needed to know about this and soon.

“Tagon, who told you that?” Maybe I could find out who was behind this traitorous plan. Maybe she would slip up and reveal who got her to do this.

“I would never tell any of you. I love him!” Tagon was louder than ever. What does a sixteen-year-old know of love? She doesn’t even know who her mate is yet. I shook my head.

“You’re just a kid, Tagon. You’ve also been greatly lied to. We were attacked by rogues during a hunt. They attacked the hunting party and the pack homes. They killed our luna and her unborn child. Katie was also almost killed, but thankfully Damian and I arrived to her in time.” The look on her face was as if she refused to believe a word I said. Why would I lie to her? When have I ever lied to her?

“No. He told me all of you would lie. He also said no one would understand our love.” She shook as if a battle raged inside her. A battle of who to believe. But why wouldn’t we believe how she felt for him?

“Why do you say that?” Aspen asked as if he knew what I was thinking. This was odd. Everything about this was odd. Why bring a sixteen-year-old into something going back to when she was three? Someone was twisting everything about the past to force this kid to follow blindly.

“He’s older than Damian but I love him, and he loves me.” Her tears were gut-wrenching. Maddox gagged and Aspen was speechless. This guy was a pedophile. I, on the other hand, was pissed.

“Did he touch you?” The anger in my voice was uncontrollable. This guy was fucking sick whoever he was. If he touched her, a fucking kid, I’d personally make sure his death was as slow as humanly possible. Anyone who dared touch a child needed to be killed where they stood without hesitation.

“No. Not even as much as a hug. I know he loves me. He had to.” She tried to explain yet I didn’t care. She was groomed regardless of how sexual it got. She was wrapped around this guy’s finger as if she begged for the affection she never received, and he took full advantage. The fact this guy would convince her that he may even love her was sick enough.

“Tagon-” I wanted to show her how wrong everything about this was and yet she didn’t care.

“I was supposed to be the one to kill you!” She yelled at me. Tagon was going to kill me? I laughed at the mere thought of her trying. This kid was as harmless as they came. Yet her threat was met by Maddox shocking her with a high voltage cattle prod. So, it begins. The torture. I left the cell so the twins could do their thing as I went to inform Damian of the situation at hand.

Aspen’s POV

Whoever this mystery guy is was as sick as they come. A kid doing his dirty work? A kid tricked into love? The thought was disgusting. Yet nothing productive came from Alexander’s questions. Now it’s my and my brother's turn. The hard way that is. Well, who knows she’s just a kid I doubt this will take long. The cattle prod to her stomach already had her screaming as Maddox started the process.

“Who sent you?” I pulled a chair out in front of her and straddled it backward. My arms crossed on the back of the chair as I looked at her. This would be fun. She seems to have some fight in her.

“Fuck you.” Wrong choice kid. Maddox shocked her again, slightly longer this time. She had four burn marks on her shirt from the prod. Her screams didn’t phase us one bit. Torture seemed to always get us excited. The thrill was amazing.

“The sooner you answer the sooner this all stops.” Maddox explains while I smirk. Yes, little thing talk. That’s all we need from her. Information. Once we are done, she will be of no use and will be killed off and cast aside.

“So, who is he?” I ask again my tone as emotionless as they come. Surely, she will answer now since she knows there will be punishments.

“Or-Orion.” She gets out between painful cries for help. I could tell she wanted this to end, yet we were just getting started. I’ve never heard of Orion before in the area. Maybe Alexander or the alpha would know. Maddox sat the cattle prod down and grabbed a silver cat o’ nine tails. We had special gloves, so silver didn’t hurt us while we tortured people. He walked behind her and ripped her shirt off.

“Why were you sent here?” I was annoyed that I even had to deal with this right now. She shook her head as if she wouldn’t answer. Very well we can continue with the hard way. I shrug and Maddox hit her across the back, the cat o’ nine ripped through her flesh and left lash marks. Blood ran down her back as she doubled over and screamed. Her entire body shook from the pain and Maddox simply grinned, he enjoyed this too much. Blood dripped from the cat o” nine as Maddox stood behind her, a hard-on from the damage he was doing. Age aside she wasn’t bad looking, yet that wasn’t mine and Maddox’s thing.
