She despised the priests. Hated the religion that was forced down the people’s throats. Nia blamed it on her mother, who used to tell her to think for herself. Her mother had also said no one was as righteous as the priests claimed to be. That had stuck with Nia long after the memory of her mother’s face had faded.

But now wasn’t the time for her to think about her mother, the past, or things that no one would ever change about Stonemore. She had a man with a mouthwatering body at her disposal, one who also showered her with pleasure. Since the only way she had ever climaxed before was by her hand, she wasn’t nearly finished with Shaw.

She put her hand atop his. Shaw’s eyes opened instantly. She didn’t say anything as she tugged him to sit up. When he swung his legs over the side of the bed, she squatted before him and unlaced his boots before pulling them off his feet and setting them off to the side. Then she straightened and held out her hand to him.

He didn’t demand to know what was going on. Others always had. Maybe it was because he knew his magic would get him out of any predicament. Oh, to have magic at her fingertips. The things she would change would be numerous. And she would start with the damned priests who made her skin crawl.

She pulled Shaw after her out of her chamber and down the stairs to the main floor. Nia glanced at him to see his gaze on her. Her stomach fluttered in response. He grinned as if he knew how he made her feel. She tugged him to the left and to the doorway hidden by the stairs. Once inside, she stared at him, waiting for him to see the room.

Shaw’s gaze lingered on her before he finally looked away. His eyes widened, and his lips turned up in a smile full of pleasure. There was astonishment there, as well. She nearly burst with happiness. She didn’t know why it pleased her so much that she could surprise him. Nor did she allow herself to linger on that thought for too long.

Sadie and the other servants had laid out the food and mead along one side of the tub, leaving it within easy reach for when they wanted to snack. Steam rose in fat tendrils from the water. Orange rose petals floated on the surface as the scent of the flowers, along with the amber oil, filled the room.

Nia walked to Shaw and began removing his clothes one item at a time. She didn’t allow him to move. When he was nude, she walked him to the tub, where a couple of buckets and soap sat. She washed every part of his amazing body, lingering on his tattoo because it intrigued her so. When his cock hardened in her hand, she remained, teasing him until he reached for her. She maneuvered away from him, but he snagged her—and the soap.

“My turn,” he said in a low voice filled with desire.

Her heart skipped a beat. It wasn’t the first time she had been undressed and bathed, but it was the first time anyone had done so with such relish. By the time he finished, her body thrummed with need. He grinned, knowing full well what he had done to her.

Nia took a bucket and made him kneel. Then she dumped it over his head, washing away the soap. He repeated the process for her. She motioned him into the tub. Her eyes lingered on his fine body and the tattoo that labeled him a Dragon King as he stepped into the tub.

The water came to the tops of his thighs. A sigh escaped him when he found one of the benches and sank down. She couldn’t tear her eyes away from his face. He had his eyes closed, and his contentment was so great that she could almost reach out and touch it.

As he enjoyed the heated water, she quickly got in on the other side of the tub. She walked slowly to him. His lids cracked open when she stopped before him.

“Lass, you keep this up, and I’m never leaving,” he said with a grin.

It was said in jest, but a little thrill went through her all the same. Nia chided herself. It was his magic. That was the only reason she felt such…fondness…for him. It was probably his magic that made him an incredible lover and brought her so many orgasms, too.

“Perhaps that’s my plan,” she replied with a grin.

His arm snaked out and wrapped around her, pulling her to him. He opened his eyes to look at her. “You’re doing a verra good job.”

“Then let me finish.”

“I think it’s my turn.”

She shook her head and reached between them for his arousal. It pulsed in her hand. She ran her hand up and down his length. “Stand,” she told him, the word coming out in a voice rough with need.

He held her gaze as he stood, the water sluicing off him. She got on her knees and brought his cock to her mouth. A low moan rumbled in his chest as his hands tangled in her hair.
