“You could say that,” I answered and closed my eyes. “Two years ago, the man I loved, the man I thought loved me too, took me out to dinner before we were supposed to go to a party. We never made it to the meal or the party. Do you know why?”

I heard him swallow hard and opened my eyes. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down. “No, why?”

“We were attacked. Or I should say, I was attacked. The attacker singled me out. Do you know why?”

“Uh, how would I?” His innocent act was beginning to annoy me, but I would not allow him to continue to lie to me.

I crawled over him and grabbed his hardened cock. Grinning, I pulled hard, making him scream. “I was in denial for a long time. I tried to tell myself that he was innocent, that he would never do that to me. I was wrong. Do you know what I discovered?”

He was breathing hard, his face red, and spit flew out of his mouth. “You’re fucking crazy, bitch! People are going to start looking for me.”

Yanking again, I giggled when he screamed. “Will you look at that? No one is barging in. Did I mention that every single cabin on this yacht is soundproofed on all sides? No sound will get in or out, and if by chance someone does hear something, it will be muffled. They will think that we are just having a good time. Now, back to my earlier question. Do you know what I found out about that night and my fiancé?”

“What?” he seethed.

“I meant nothing to him. I was set up because he wanted me out of the way and tried to have me killed. They fucked up, though, as you can see. I’m still alive. Didn’t cut deep enough. One week before I was supposed to marry him, he threw me away on the rocks and left me to die…or rot. He might have thought I was already dead.”

“What does that have to do with me?” he demanded, still pretending he was not stained with sin.

“Oh, Matthew, Matthew, Matthew. Have I really changed that much?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, bitch. I’ve only ever been engaged to Helena.”

“Yes, the sweet and lovely Helena. The first time I met her, do you know I recognized her voice?” I tapped a finger against my chin and noticed how his throat practically vibrated with the way he kept swallowing.

“I—”

“Cut the shit,” I snapped, climbing off the bed. “You must think I’m stupid or something. I will admit that when we met, and you helped me with my books and study materials, I thought you had walked out of a dream. You were my hero and perfect. Dreams are fake. Reality is much harsher. It will knock you on your ass harder than a wooden door—Matthew Blum, aka Matthew Black. I trusted you with my everything, and you took it and more. What were in those boxes? I remember peeking in one because the box had been slightly damaged and saw nothing except stuffed animals. What were you smuggling? Drugs, jewels, money? Not that it matters, but I kind of want to know why my life was forfeit. You texted my parents, picked up my mail, told everyone I was on vacation, and collected your boxes. What was so important in those boxes?”

“I…I don’t know—” I could barely hear the words he spoke.

“Don’t know what I’m talking about. Lies. So many lies. If you haven’t figured it out, I’m Nell. Your little girlfriend—oops, fiancée—didn’t cut deep enough that night. I was found and treated. I’d lost a lot of blood, and the man who found me said I was close to death. He didn’t think I survived. But I did. Oh, and if you haven’t figured it out, I’m Nell Ward. Nell Melody Ward. You can deny it all you want, but I have proof.”

His face was as white as the sheets on the bed. “Nell, babe…”

I snorted. “Don’t babe me. I want you to admit what you did to me.”

“It wasn’t my idea. Helena’s family made me do it. They needed someplace they could send boxes. I don’t know what was in them, but they are bad news. She was just supposed to scare you off that night, but she didn’t. She tried to kill you. I wanted to save you. I did. She made me—”

“More lies. I’m sick of the lies and manipulation. You really want to blame this on her? She isn’t innocent and has as much blood on her hands as you do, but trust me when I say she isn’t going to go down alone.”

“I promise!”

I grabbed a switchblade off the nightstand and opened it. I loved to see the fear in someone’s face when it popped open inches from their face but doing it less than a foot away from their dick was something to remember and laugh about for the rest of my life. Before I could do anything, Matthew passed out. “Took the drugs long enough to work. It was just getting good, too,” I grumbled.

I showered and redid my hair and makeup before dressing in the purple dress I bought for tonight. Occasionally, I allowed my gaze to drift around the room, looking at the various cameras I had hidden. Matthew and Helena would not be able to run away from what they had done any longer.
