I closed my eyes and let my mind wander. Maybe I would sign up for a real dating service when I got the money. I didn’t want to be alone forever. The service would weed out the ones I wasn’t compatible with. It might actually be my only chance at finding love.
“Hi,” I heard a man say.
My eyes popped open. Ryan was standing beside my chair. He pulled off his shirt, dropped it to the poolside floor, and took the empty chair beside mine.
“What are you doing?” I asked in a quiet voice.
“I’m enjoying the sun. With my fiancée.”
He knitted his hands behind his head and stretched out like he didn’t have a care in the world. I noticed things had suddenly gotten very quiet. I looked over at Norah. She had pulled her sunglasses down and was staring at a shirtless Ryan.
Her eyes met mine. She smiled and settled back into her chair. I looked around the pool area. I swore every woman, old, young, married, and single were all staring at Ryan. Even the guys that had been horsing around in the pool seemed to be drooling over the man.
I casually turned to look at him. He was a lot to take in. There was a smattering of hair across his broad chest. The muscles were defined in his chest and arms. His stomach was an actual washboard with sexy ripples disappearing under the waistband of his shorts. His long legs stretched out with his feet hanging over the edge of the chair. If there was ever the perfect male specimen, he was it.
And the guy was lying out like he was completely oblivious to all the attention. I supposed he was probably used to it. Damn, playing his fiancée was going to be fun.
