“God this is sticky.” I murmured as I pulled at my top again while applying mascara on my eye lashes.

I was wearing a classy, I- do-hope-it-looks-since-it-caused-me-enough, deep red top. It was of sweater like material, yet very thin, and supple, under the fingers. It fitted me like a glove, hugging me in all the right places. Hugging me in all the places, I should say. Yes! That was the problem. It was sticking to me and I did not want that. Because it made me look somewhat hot and that wasn’t the look I was going for. I did not wish to give Aariz any wrong ideas.

Yesterday, when I cupped his face with a wildly beating heart and dared to ask, when was he taking me out, he looked like a kid in a candy store. His eyes glinted as if I was his favourite chocolate.

What if, on seeing me in this outfit he thinks that I am coming on to him. On the other hand, his smouldering look might have just been my imagination and now when we meet, poor guy would run for the hills thinking I was getting too desperate. God!

But I can't change now. It would take me hours to decide again and I’ll be late! This was the only top I had that was not too funky or too cute girl types. Fine! It was the prettiest thing in my wardrobe. I wanted to look different kind of good looking for him tonight, so I wore it. Sue me!

Other lovely things I had were dresses and no matter what, I was not going to wear a dress or anything else stickier. He would actually think I was taking this thing...this date. No! This going out thing, whatever it was, way too seriously.

Keeping my makeup light and subtle, I had just about worn my red sling purse on my shoulder, when-

“Dressing up nice, are we?” Mom gave me a once over, standing at my bedroom door with one hand on her hip. Eyebrows raised in admiration.

I gulped hard.

Would it rise more than eyebrows if I ask her to dish out in detail if I look any good? Could she just define nice?

“You look beautiful.” Mom smiled bright.

“Really?”

She nodded chuckling, “Of course! But where are you off too?”

Now this was tricky. I couldn’t obviously tell her where, because for starters, I did not know it myself. He had kept it a surprise. Even if I knew, I would die before I told Mom. So what were my options here? I could tell I was going to Umber's. But if I got late, Mom might call and I couldn’t ask Umber to lie, because she would want to know ‘who is the guy?’

It’s all Aariz's fault. I don’t know where I’m going and for how long. He is such an idiot. He didn’t realize I would need to make an excuse?!

Taking a deep breath, I decided to keep it vague and closed for any loopholes.

“I need a few private girly things you know.” I shrugged.

Mom nodded understandably with a sweet smile.

Yeah, let her think I'm off to lingerie shopping for all I care.

“And I might sling off to Umber's later on. Or get stuck checking out ice-cream flavours.” I said cheekily.

I had to be on the safe side in case Aariz's surprise dragged and I got left, wandering around the city in his search.

“Just checking?” Mom winked playfully.

I grinned.

All right, I might have really considered forcing him to take me ice cream eating. After his going out ends, of course.

I went to the living room followed by Mom, when Grandpa raised his head from the book he was reading and smiled at me,

“Darling you look wonderful. Where are you going?”

“Shall I join you? I'm bored. I’ll take you shopping.” Dad said with eagerness as he switched off the television he was watching.

“I...uh...”

“I will come too. It will be fun.” Grandpa piped in.
