“What’s going on?” he asked.

Allison gave him an exasperated look. “That’s what I was trying to tell you! Summer came over for a girls’ night.”

Silas's expression fell. He let out a long sigh before lowering his head to her neck and shoulder, pressing a few lingering kisses against her skin.

Allison shivered as he drew her closer again. He lifted his head and looked directly into her eyes.

“So, tell me,” he murmured. “Who are you going to sleep with tonight? Me or Summer?”

Allison stared at him nervously.

‘He's already losing control. If he's anything like he was the last time, there's no way he'll hold back.’

The memory made her cheeks burn. Last time, she had barely been able to keep her voice down, and her throat had been so sore afterward that she could hardly speak. The thought of Summer hearing them tonight, then facing her over breakfast in the morning, was mortifying.

Swallowing nervously, Allison placed her hands against Silas's chest and gently tried to create some distance between them.

“You can sleep in our bedroom tonight,” she told him, giving him an apologetic smile. “I'll sleep with Summer. I promise I'll sleep with you tomorrow.”

Silas sighed in disappointment, closing his eyes for a moment as though trying to gather the last of his patience. When he finally opened them, he drew Allison closer and kissed her again.

When he eventually pulled back, he gazed down into her eyes, his expression a mixture of longing and reluctant surrender.

“If I have to wait until tomorrow, then you need to give me something to look forward to,” he murmured.

Allison raised her eyebrows, watching him curiously. “What do you want?”

Silas leaned closer, bringing his lips near her ear as he lowered his voice. “I want you to let me take control in bed.”

Allison's eyes widened slightly. A blush spread across her cheeks, and she looked at him for a moment before leaning in to kiss him again.

“Alright,” she whispered.

She tried to pull away, but Silas wasn't ready to let her go. He drew her back for another kiss, his hand slipping from her waist to her neck as he kissed and gently bit her skin. His other hand slid beneath the edge of her top, but before he could go any further, Allison caught his wrist.

She pushed his hand away and placed her other hand against his neck, holding him back as she looked into his eyes.

“Enough. Good night.”

Her voice was soft, and she even managed a small smile, but Silas looked thoroughly disappointed. His entire body was tense with restrained desire, and it was clear how much effort it was taking him to let her go.

Allison leaned forward and gave him one final kiss on the mouth. Then, before he could pull her back into his arms, she slipped free of his hold and climbed down from the dining table.

She hurried toward the stairs, glancing over her shoulder once to find him still watching her. With a shy smile, she continued upstairs and disappeared into Summer's room to sleep beside her.

The next morning, Allison woke up late. She slept so soundly that she didn't stir until nine o'clock. When she turned over in bed, she immediately noticed that Summer was nowhere to be seen.

Assuming she had already gone downstairs for breakfast, Allison got out of bed and made her way down the stairs. She glanced around the living room, but Summer was nowhere in sight.

Instead, she found Silas arranging breakfast on the dining table.

He was already dressed in his office clothes, looking perfectly put together as he set out the plates. The moment he noticed her, he straightened and smiled. He came around the table, placed a plate in front of her, and leaned down to kiss her on the mouth.

“Where's Summer?” Allison asked, glancing around the room again.

Chapter 11 Close Your Eyes

Silas poured her a glass of juice and placed a plate of sandwiches in front of her before answering casually, “I paid her an undisclosed amount to leave early this morning and give my wife back to me.”
