He made a guttural noise in his throat before he gripped my hips and pushed inside me. I gasped, my thighs trembling as he stretched me to my limits.

“You are so damn tight,” he gritted out. His hands branded my skin, hot enough to leave an imprint behind. “So damn perfect. So damn mine.”

He fed me his cock, inch by merciless inch. By the time he bottomed out, his heavy balls resting against my ass, I was already half incoherent. The burn was sharp but exquisite, and he didn’t give me time to adjust before he pulled back and slammed forward again.

“Is this what you wanted?” He fucked me with hard, powerful thrusts, his filthy words hitting my bloodstream like shots of pure adrenaline. “Did you want me to take you against the wall like a fucking animal? To wreck this tight little pussy and make you scream?”

“Yes. Yesyesyesyes yes. Fuck!” I sobbed when he lifted me up and wrapped my legs around his waist. The angle made my clit grind against his pelvis, and gravity drove him deeper with every downward stroke. I clung to him, past the point of rationality.

Noah cursed, his thrusts getting faster, more brutal.

The wet slap of skin against skin filled my ears. Pressure wound through my body, coiling tighter and tighter until I couldn’t breathe.

I hadn’t come yet, but I was already falling apart—from the pleasure, from our closeness, from the warmth that had nothing to do with our physical coupling. Our sex was rough and fierce, yet I’d never felt safer or more alive.

“Look at me,” he rasped. He fisted my hair and tugged my head back. My scalp tingled deliciously from the pressure. “I want to see your face when you come all over my cock.”

One order. One more thrust. That was all it took.

The coils snapped, and the pressure exploded. I thought I heard myself crying Noah’s name, but it was difficult to tell through the haze clouding my thoughts.

His strokes grew erratic. I felt the sting of his teeth when they dug into my shoulder, and I was still flying high on my orgasm when he came with a broken, muffled groan. He held me close, his cock twitching inside me, and some of his cum dripped down my thighs when he finally pulled out.

Slowly, tenderly, he unwrapped my legs from around his waist and set me down, but I continued leaning on him for support. My legs were boneless, and I didn’t trust them to hold me up.

Neither of us spoke. We just stood there, our heavy breaths filling the silence. Noah stroked my hair as I pressed my face against his chest and listened to the steady thumps of his heart. I was sore, so sore I’d probably have trouble walking properly tomorrow, and I couldn’t get the last of my tremors under control. But I also felt strangely at peace.

After months of uncertainty and frustration, this was the catharsis I’d needed. Languid bliss filled my limbs, and I let myself linger in the moment before I raised my head.

“I don’t think that was a proper use of the lounge,” I said.

Noah laughed, a deep, husky rumble that warmed the pits of my stomach. “Nothing about what we just did was proper, little bird.”

“Is that what you’re calling me now?”

“Do you not like it?” He wound a strand of my hair around his finger.

“I do. I’m surprised, that’s all. I didn’t picture you as the nickname type.”

“You let Samson call you Cece.”

I exhaled on a breath of disbelief. “Seriously? You’re still not over that even though this happened?” I gestured between us.

“Cece’s a stupid nickname,” he said, ignoring my question. “Little bird is better. Because of the penguin thing.”

Amusement bubbled in my throat, but I knew better than to laugh. “It is,” I assured him. I bit my lip, then said, somewhat apprehensively, “Our term of employment technically isn’t up until next Friday.” That was Evie’s last day of school.

“True,” Noah said, his face giving nothing away.

“What about our contract?”

We’d more than violated it. We’d basically ripped it to shreds and tossed the pieces into a blazing fire.

Asking about it might seem like a stupid technicality given everything that had happened, but I’d rather be sure. I didn’t want to assume, nor did I want to be plagued by doubts and uncertainty anymore.

As it turned out, I needn’t have worried.

“The contract?” Noah repeated. His hand slid from my hair to my nape, anchoring me to his touch. His voice was low but edged with certainty. “Fuck the contract.”
