“On the count of three. One, two, three.”

We pin our cloths to the Quilt of Horniness—what can I say? It’s catchy.

As soon as our strips are secured, the air above us crackles, and a bright light pulses from the inside of the quilt outward, in a wave. Sparks pop from our fabric strips.

Then it all stops.

Holy shit.

That magic was even scarier than the time my friend Coco cast a spell on her now fiancé, Stone.

Rhett takes a step back and rubs his neck. “Good luck.”

“Yeah,” I mumble. “Same to you.”

He walks away, and I’m left staring at the Soulmate Quilt, the air still humming like it knows something I don’t.

Just my luck, it probably does.

And worse—what if the magic decides he’s the one . . . and I can’t walk away?

Chapter 11

Cristina

“How’s the bride-to-be?” I ask Coco as I sit at the table she and Rowe saved for me at Sparkle Bar.

Coco not-so-casually drapes her ring hand over her shoulder. “Doing great! And how about you?”

I smile, stifling a yawn. “Oh, you know, same old, same old. Working a lot, but I’m glad to be here with my besties.”

“We got you a glass of wine,” Rowe says before sipping on her water, her baby bump pressed against the table.

My eyes widen. “That little one is growing daily.”

She runs a hand over her belly. “Little Maddox is, isn’t he?”

“It might be a she,” Coco points out.

“I think it’s a he,” Rowe says. “I have a feeling.”

“Mother’s intuition already kicking in, huh?” I open my purse and pull out two Bitty Beings and place them on the table. “Surprise!”

“I get my very own?”

Rowe squeals in delight as she picks up a pregnant Bitty Being that looks like a cross between a Precious Moments character and a troll—a cute one. A super-cute and lovable troll that could babysit your children.

“I love her,” she gushes.

I drag my teeth over my bottom lip. “You sure? You don’t have to lie.”

“No, I’m telling the truth.”

“And I love mine, too,” Coco adds, tracing her finger over the character. Hers has its hair pulled into a bun that’s held in place with a pencil. “She’s adorable. You’ve got to start selling these online.”

“You think?”

“Absolutely.”
