Oh my god.
I glanced up and down the hallway before whispering into the phone. “Zeke… are you…” I couldn’t believe I was going to ask this. “Are you masturbating?” I pulled the phone away from my ear when his loud “What?” rang out. I laughed. “You sound like it.”
“I’m… not,” he panted.
“Are you sure?”
“I told you… I wouldn’t lie to you.” He moaned and cursed under his breath.
I bit my lip and inhaled slowly as the memory of Zeke leaning against the tree in Feranzis with his hand wrapped around his cock played out in my mind.
“I need… to go.”
“Oh.”
If he felt uncomfortable being on the phone while doing something like that, I wouldn’t force him to continue talking. For one, that’d be weird if he didn’t want me to hear him. But I also didn’t want to violate his trust.
I couldn’t help but wonder why he continued while I was on the phone.
“If you’re sure…”
His sharp, answering gasp made me shiver.
“It’s hot, you know.”
“What is?”
“That you’re touching yourself.”
His breath hitched, then he groaned. “R-really? You think it’s hot? But I—” Another moan stole the rest of his sentence from him.
“Mmhm.” I pressed my thighs together. “If Ash weren’t waiting for me, I might join you.” My face warmed after saying something so bold, but the temptation to find a bathroom and take care of myself made my pulse spike.
“Rae,” Zeke whined, and rustling sounded through the tinny speaker. “You really… shouldn’t say that. I’m not—” He cursed. “I can’t.”
“If you want me to let you go—”
“Where are you?”
I nearly dropped my phone when Cyn’s demanding voice cut me off.
“Rae?”
“Uh… what?”
“Where are you?”
Realization dawned on me.
Zeke wasn’t alone. Whatever had Zeke moaning and breathless wasn’t self-inflicted. Cyn had made him sound like that.
Zeke’s timid voice came from the background, making me realize Cyn had put me on speakerphone. “I tried to tell you.”
Cyn growled. “I asked you where you were.”
“The palace,” I whispered. “I’ll… let you go.”
As much as I loved the idea that they’d crossed the line together without the threat of imminent death looming over our heads, I didn’t feel comfortable staying on the phone, interrupting something so meaningful to them.
