I had to figure out what operation was working out of that building across from Redemption.
First, because of Perry.
Second, because none of us seemed to be aware of it. And if someone was operating in Navesink Bank below our radar, that was not good. The only reason there was relative peace in town was because everyone knew each other and respected their hustle. If someone had edged in without introducing themselves, that was a problem.
“Hey,” I said, feeling Georgie tensing up. “How about you and I make a stop on the way back to the clubhouse?”
“What kind of stop?”
“Well, coffee first. Then… the craft store?”
Her eyes brightened at that.
“Really?”
“I got my good walking shoes on. You can stop and look at every item. Then,” I started, “we can get Chinese for dinner again. And do some crafting.”
I’d never seen Georgie move so fast.
She flew up and climbed on my lap, pressing a kiss to my lips as she wrapped her arms tightly around me.
“If you keep this up, we’re not gonna make it to the craft store before it closes,” I said, my hands sliding down her back to grab her ass.
She sighed hard, looking genuinely conflicted.
“I propose a slight change to our plans.”
“What’s that?”
“First, coffee.”
“Obviously.”
“Second, craft store.”
“Can’t miss that.”
“Third, we take an early evening… nap.”
“A nap, huh?” I asked, smiling.
“I mean, I might need some help… getting tired first.”
“I can help with that.”
“Then we eat Chinese food and craft.”
“Sounds perfect.”
And it did.
But while she napped, I had to get the club caught up and working on my theory.
Before Perry tried to kill Georgie again.
