“So, what did you decide?”

“We all agreed. Troy and Enzo asked about you. You haven’t been to the club for a while. Why don’t you…”He trailed off, his eyebrows knitted together. That look… I knew it. He was plotting something.

“Finish it,” I said.

“Instead of staying here, why don’t you come to the club for a few days and work?”

“You know I don’t like crowded places,” I said.

“You don’t have to be in a crowded place. Just come and stay in my office. You don’t have to actually be in the club. Meet the guys? Say hi? Have a few drinks? Do something other than staying locked up inside?”

Just hearing about it made my head pound.

The noise. The crowd. The scent of perfume. The voices. The women.

THE WOMEN.

I blinked.

Now that the cops knew about the AFC, I had to change my hunting ground.

Club Onyx would be a better, much better hunting ground to find what I wanted. I wondered why I hadn’t thought about that before—maybe because my brother loved it.

I smiled. Shrugged.

“Okay. I’ll stop by some day.”

“Yes?” He gave me a wide smile. “Good. Good. Tomorrow?”

“No. Whenever I have time.”

“Of course,” he said with a yawn. “I’m going to bed. And please, stop wandering around in the middle of the night.”

He left, giving me one last worried look.

I walked to my room and grabbed the packet I had prepared.

I couldn’t let my mother win. I couldn’t let her mock me.

The world must see me, fear me.

I had wanted power all my life, and it was about time they gave me what I craved the most.

Power.

Power I had lacked all my life.

Pulling on a jacket, I walked out.

I knew what I had to do, what I must. The world was now ready to put me in the spotlight. The world owed me that much. After all the shit it had rained down on me.

I stared at the name on the envelope with a grin. He had been chasing me for months, and it was time for me to chase him back.

Ryden Sinclair. Sunday Explorer.

It was about time we stopped going in circles and greeted each other properly.
