“Nothin’ wrong with eatin’ A,” Bones casually chimes in.

“Can we fucking focus?” I practically bark, arms folding across my chest. “We’re on a ticking clock.”

“Don’t all clocks tick?” Toke needlessly interjects. “Ain’t that like the point of a clock?”

“How fucked up are you?” Mack investigates on a displeased glare.

“Pretty fucked up,” he openly admits, “but I wasn’t expectin’ to be in Church today! Bones’s shit just fuckin’ ended!”

“For you,” Bones warmly laughs. “I had a few good hours left in me.”

“Who the fuck are you?” cackles Fox, one of the other standing members. “The fucking Cluberminator?”

At that, Tex’s eyes widen to saucers prompting Ink to state, “Don’t bring up 80s movies in Tex’s presence.”

“Forfuckssake!” bellows around the enclosed space. “They’ve got my Old Lady!”

“And we’ll get her back,” Stone calmly states on a lifted hand. “You know that.”

I do.

I know it like I know that she’s my swan.

We’re mated for life.

Year round.

Day in and day out.

She just shouldn’t be in danger.

At risk because of me.

Because of the club.

We’re supposed to protect the fucking innocent.

Not leave them to become collateral.

And let’s say they don’t physically fucking hurt Emmerz – and they better not or the other part of my swan side will come the fuck out, the one that will drown a motherfucker by the neck – they’re still mentally hurting her.

Most people don’t bounce back from being kidnapped like it was just a bad batch of sushi they ate.

What if she hates me for this shit?

Fuckme.

What if she never forgives me?

What if this is how I permanently lose her?

“Knock it off, Dock,” Dive calls out from where he’s lingering near Stone. “Thinkin’ that type of shit, ain’t gonna help the sitch, brah.”

I press my lips together.

Nod in surrender.

“What do we know?” Kegger investigates, gaze finding mine once more.
