“With the utmost sincerity, fuck you, cousin.”

I grinned and blew her a kiss. “What do you know about Kyron?”

“Nothing really. He’s friends with Xander but I’ve only been around him a few times. We had some rogues that got angry because Laz wouldn’t allow them set up camps out on their property, so they set fires. Station 112 came to help. He seems nice. Xander and his brothers are particular about who they deal with, and when Kyron texted and asked if he could meet with me, Xander didn’t tell him no. That says a lot. If my husband and his brothers trust him, he must be okay.”

Her phone vibrated with a text and her entire face lit up. “Speak of the devil.”

“Your man?”

“Yep, I’ve been out of his sight for five minutes, so he needs to know I’m—”

Her eyes rolled and I sat quietly, waiting. After a long pause, she shook her head.

“He’s so impatient. I didn’t text him right back so he used the link.”

That explained why she stopped mid sentence and the pause right after.

“Is that weird?”

I couldn’t imagine someone in my head all the time or having full access to my thoughts.

“It was at first but you get used to it.”

“So he knows everything you’re thinking, all the time?”

“He can if he wants to, but we have boundaries. Neither of us abuse the privilege, and if he pisses me off, I shut off access.” She smirked.

“I’m sure that goes over real well.”

“He hates when I deny him. It never lasts long and always ends with great sex because Xander knows it’s the only way to make me fold.”

I lifted a finger and circled it in the air. “You’re all red, cousin.”

She shrugged and lifted her tea. “I’m married to a shifter. Sex is one of the best parts.”

“Your nasty ass.”

“Says the woman fucking at clubs.”

I decided not to try to defend myself because I’d damn sure come close.

Chapter

“Why are criminals so gotdamn stupid?” I said, not caring that this dumbass I was saving could hear me.

Gade and Noab both laughed.

“I can hear you.” The man had the nerve to be offended.

“Muthafucker, I know that, which was why I made a point of saying it out loud. I wanted you to hear me. This has got to be the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.”

“I’m filing a complaint.”

“With who, bruh?” Gade questioned.

“The city. I’m sure you’re not supposed to talk to people like this.”
