The rear door of the evidence room slams open.
Two Coast Guard officers rush inside.
“Commander, we have a problem.”
Keating turns. “What happened?”
“The team at Sea Whisper found the main cabin door open.”
Storm’s face drains of color.
Ward’s hand closes around hers.
The officer looks directly at us.
“The yacht is empty, but someone has already searched it.”

“The yacht is empty, but someone has already searched it.”
Storm pulls away from Ward and heads for the door.
Keating steps in front of her. “You’re not going anywhere.”
“That’s my home.”
“And it may still be an active crime scene.”
“You said it was empty.”
“I said the boarding team didn’t find anyone. That doesn’t mean whoever searched it is far away.”
Storm looks ready to push past him.
Ward catches her hand. “Let them clear it properly.”
“Ivy’s card is aboard Sea Whisper.”
“I know.”
“What if they found it?”
“We don’t know what they found.”
Storm’s chest rises and falls as she fights to control her fear.
I understand it. Every cabin, drawer and cupboard aboard Sea Whisper holds a piece of our family. Whoever entered the yacht didn’t merely break into a boat.
They invaded our memories.
“Was anything taken?” Ben asks.
