He needs the original lens hidden inside Hazel’s trunk to reveal everything Dad photographed.
Ben turns toward Marquez.
“How quickly can you get a tactical team to the salvage yard?”
“Twelve minutes.”
“Too long.”
“It’s a secured federal operation.”
“Simon abandoned the motorcycle seven minutes ago. If he went directly to the yard, he could already be aboard the Argent Star.”
Keating contacts the Coast Guard station.
“All patrol vessels secure the eastern waterfront. Do not approach the salvage yard until federal teams are in position.”
Marcus grabs Marquez’s arm.
“You can’t send boats toward it.”
She pulls free.
“Why?”
“The entrance is trapped.”
“What kind of trap?”
“Simon wired the dry dock with marine explosives. If a vessel enters the channel without transmitting the correct signal, the entire eastern pier comes down.”
Keating immediately cancels the order.
Ben looks toward Mark, John and Piers.
“We go by land.”
Marquez’s voice hardens.
“You will wait for my team.”
“Send them behind us.”
“Ben.”
“We don’t enter the dry dock. We confirm whether Simon is there and stop him from leaving by road.”
Mark takes the keys to the Blue Lantern truck.
John and Piers move toward the doors.
“I’m coming with you,” Marcus says.
“No,” Marquez answers.
“You won’t find the entrance without me.”
“You can give us directions.”
