She drew me into her slowly, guiding me until I was deep enough that neither of us could move without feeling it. I braced my hands beside her shoulders and waited for her to adjust.
“Pain?”
“No. Move.”
I moved.
She set the pace at first, lifting to meet me. I followed until she caught my hips and pulled me harder. The bed shifted under us. She laughed into my mouth, then lost the laugh when I did it again.
“That’s what I wanted,” she gasped. “Again.”
I gave her more. One hand under her thigh, opening her wider; the other resting at her throat, without pressure. Her pulse hammered under my palm. My fangs scraped her shoulder and she arched toward them.
“Not yet,” I said, voice gone rough enough to hurt. “You tell me.”
She tightened around me. “Make me come.”
I moved my hand from her throat and put my thumb where she needed it. I drove into her with only two rules left in my head: don’t hurt her, don’t bite before she asks.
Her pleasure climbed fast, body already sensitized. I felt my own climax closing with it, fangs fully descended, venom ready, every instinct in me waiting on her word.
“Rylos.” Her hands framed my face. She made me look at her. No mask. No room left between us. “Now. Bite me.”
I waited, close enough that my fangs brushed her skin.
“Yes. Mine. Yours. Now.”
I bit.
Her body convulsed around me at the same instant. Pain flashed through her throat. Then the venom turned it molten, and she came hard under me, cry breaking against my shoulder while her blood hit my tongue and the bond opened all at once.
Consent first. Pleasure. Fear, bright but chosen. Under everything else was certainty. Hers met mine, not thoughts, never thoughts, but the truth of her everywhere: yes, yes, yes.
I lost the last of myself inside her. My release struck with the bond, pleasure running out of her into me and back again before either of us knew how to regulate it.
She felt me come; I felt her feel it; the feedback intensified. We shook through the climax together.
I withdrew my fangs carefully and sealed the wound with my tongue. She lay under me breathing in torn little pulls, hands still locked behind my neck.
“There you are,” she whispered.
“Here I am.”
“Warm.” Wonder moved through the new bond before the word did. “You enormous liar. You’re so warm.”
The transformation began pulling at her almost immediately. Her eyelids grew heavy. I shifted us so the wounded shoulder was protected and held her against my good side.
“Six to twenty hours,” I reminded her. “Fast or slow, Tamsin says both can be normal.”
“Mine will finish early out of spite.”
“Likely.”
She fought sleep long enough to give one more order. “Don’t turn me into a problem to solve while I’m out.”
“I’ll try.”
Then she let go into my arms.
