Chapter 31
Summer
Iwas still in shock. No matter how much we’d talked about preparing for my heat, which was apparently coming regardless of any medication I had been taking, it’d still somehow snuck up on me. The guys had been amazing so far, making sure to load up the house with snacks, getting fresh bedding sets and nesting supplies from the store on the way home, and their mothers had agreed to take Milo since I’d be in no condition to take care of him.
Now I was frantically moving pillows and blankets in the bed, aware that Marshall was behind me, ready for whatever I needed as the others finished putting away the groceries. The urge to create a proper nest in the bed was the strongest I’d felt in my life, and I actually ached to get it done, my hands shaking, temperature rising.
“No. No, it’s not…” My words drifted off as I put the last pillow I’d been fussing with on the other side. “I need…”
I turned around, facing Marshall. Even without him near me, I could detect his scent, and it provided just a touch of instant relief.
“That.” I walked up to him, grabbing at his shirt greedily. “I need this. Take it off.”
Marshall didn’t hesitate, and for that, I was exceedingly grateful. I was acting like a mad woman, but it was the rapidly approaching heat talking. My logical brain had vacated the building.
I snatched the shirt out of his grip as soon as it was over his head, and I hurried back to the nest, threading it through the pillows like it was the glue that’d been missing. Part of the ache inside me eased, but it was replaced by a needling cramp that had me falling onto the bed, clutching my middle.
“Summer?” Marshall was at my side in a flash, carefully crawling into the nest. “Are you—”
“It’s here.” I groaned low, aware of how my scent flared. “Need knots.”
My entire body felt like an inferno, and I began to take my clothes off, struggling as the surges of my heat got the better of me. Marshall was there to help, whispering encouraging words in my ear as I pawed at him.
“We’ve got you, Summer. I’m right here.” He helped me get my shirt over my head, glancing at the door as he called out, “Get in here! She needs us!”
Time and space blurred as the burning sensation spread across my body—I guess that was one of the reasons they called it a heat. I grabbed Marshall, pulling him down into a kiss. Our lips tangled and I was pouring slick now, wanting to be covered in his metallic musky scent. He obliged, pulling me up against him as he towered over me. The kiss was everything until it was suddenly nowhere near enough, another surge rocking me.
I whimpered, sweat blooming on my forehead. “Please.”
“I got you, Summer.” A low growl escaped him, and my body hummed. “Goddamn, gorgeous. You smell so good.”
He buried his face in my neck, kissing and nipping at my skin. Then Marshall’s touches moved lower, his lips dancing over my chest and stomach as I lay back, his hand cupping my bared breast. I’d yet to get my leggings off, but that wasn’t a problem for long. Marshall yanked them down my leg, panties included.
“Ugh!” I arched as the cold air hit me, about to complain. But then Marshall was snuggling between my thighs, growling and rumbling like a man on a mission.
“Fuuuck, you’re so wet, aren’t you? God, I could stay right here forever.”
I certainly didn’t mind that idea, and before I could respond, Marshall was lifting one leg and then the other over his shoulders, his mouth finding my desperate pussy. He lapped at me as if I were his favorite dessert, and the intense cramps backed off as my pleasure rose. I rolled my hips up, wanting every inch of me touching his skilled tongue.
Gripping his hair, I felt my eyes roll back as he dragged his tongue through my folds, positively devouring me. I didn’t care about anything else at the moment, just how good it felt to have him touch me, taste me. Then I heard low growls that definitely didn’t come from Marshall.
Peeking open an eyelid, I noticed Emmett first, the bond between us calling out, and I lifted a hand, gesturing for him to get over here. He seemed happy to do so, and he was kneeling by the side of the bed a moment later. I kissed him, our tongues swirling as Marshall kept up his work, and then more scents flooded my nose: lemon and freshly baked bread.
“Goddamn,” Tobias whispered. “Just look at you. We’re right here. Anything you need, we’ll do it.”
I wanted their scents around me, woven into the nest I’d frantically constructed, so I started taking Emmett’s shirt off.
“I need your shirts. Get them off.” All three of them were quick to shed their clothes, and they helped me place them in the nest as Marshall kept the cramps at bay, rushing me toward an orgasm.
I was so hot now, sweaty and slick, and then hands were all over me as Emmett kissed me again, sending my nerves into overdrive. A moment later, I was falling apart on Marshall’s tongue, coming so hard my vision went hazy.
As I caught my breath, I realized just where I was, naked, surrounded by naked alphas, and my heat officially in full swing. A wave of self-consciousness hit me. Pulling my limbs in, I sat up, swallowing as I struggled to look at everyone.
“I…I’m sorry about that. It just…wow, that came on really fast. I’ve never experienced it like that before.”
“Hey”—Emmett cupped my cheek, smiling gently—”we knew this heat was going to be a bit different with everything going on. It’s okay. We’re here for you.”
I leaned into his touch, relaxing a bit before I grimaced as I felt the sweat cooling on my skin. “I’m already so sweaty.”
