“Serves you right, Emmett! Learn to share!” Tobias shouted from down the hall.

And that just made Summer break into more giggles.

Me too.

Chapter 21

Summer

Something about spending the night with Marshall was addictive. I slept well with Emmett, but I still got up regularly with Milo. With Marshall, I slept deeply for almost six hours, uninterrupted. I couldn’t remember the last time that happened, and after all the teasing, I thanked Emmett profusely for dealing with the baby while I was snoozing.

We both made our way down to breakfast together, Milo back in Emmett’s arms again, who’d taken him down for a bottle. I still had my cardigan on from the night before, which I’d left on Marshall's floor and picked up on my way out.

In a short space of time, I’d gotten so comfortable with all of them that I didn’t worry about covering up as much. It felt easy to trust them, and that was saying something. The guys weren’t creeps about it in the slightest, and I appreciated it so much.

“Summer!” Tobias whined, wrapping his arms around me from behind as I stepped into the kitchen.

“Well, hello there. What’s wrong with you today?” I giggled and leaned into his touch.

As I eyed him, he pouted, which only made me laugh harder. “I feel left out.”

“Why?” I cocked my head and offered a sympathetic smile.

“Marshall and Emmett both get omega snuggles, but not me? Not fair. I feel left out.”

I laughed, shaking my head. “You’ll get your turn,” I said, patting the hand wrapped around my waist. “I promise.”

They all wanted me, and they made it crystal clear, but none of them were pushing me into doing anything I wasn’t ready for. Pack Winters let me take things at my own pace, and for that, I was eternally grateful.

Still, after a little over a week in their home, I was getting more comfortable and thinking more and more about taking things further with them. I’d be a big fat liar if I said I hadn’t thought about next steps—much more physical steps—quite a bit lately.

“I can be patient. Plus, once you cuddle with me, you won’t want to go back to these bozos. I'm the best snuggler ’round these parts.”

Tobias never failed to make me laugh, and in truth, that was doing wonders for moving him up the cuddle list.

“Here you go, buddy. Is that better?” Emmett spoke from near the high chair, and Milo squealed happily before he shoved the bottle in his mouth. “Jeez, you’d think we starved him.”

I smiled, sitting down in the chair next to my son and playing with his toes. “I like that he has a good, strong appetite. Though it does mean we go through a lot of formula.”

“Speaking of…” Emmett held up the yellow can and gave it a shake, indicating how low it was. “Looks like a trip to the store is in order.”

“Oh, well, I can go there today.” Marshall disappeared somewhere as I spoke, and I stood up to check out the pantry. “I’m sure there’s more than just that I can pick up.”

“Probably more of those little pouches too. He sucks those things down like a champ!” Noah smiled, coming into the kitchen dressed and ready to go. “Hey, there, Milo. How’s it going this morning?”

Milo giggled and babbled right back at him, managing a few sounds that were actually pretty close to Mama or more. I reached into the pantry for a jar of his baby food, picking one of the flavors that I didn't find absolutely foul. It was also breakfast time, so yogurt and oatmeal with berries sounded like a good choice.

“Good talking to you, kid,” Noah teased, shaking Milo’s little hand. “I need to get some coffee.”

I walked over to them, and Noah squeezed me in a quick hug before I sat back down in front of Milo and popped open the jar of food. Milo banged on his table, eyes wide as he grabbed for the jar.

“Oh, someone’s excited, aren’t you?” I smiled and looked around the table. “Oh, shoot. I forgot a spoon.”

Emmett was at my side in a flash, holding out one of the little plastic spoons that had dogs on the handle. He smiled, mussing Milo’s short hair.

“Here ya go.”

I grinned up at him. “Thank you. And yes, I’ll get some pouches and baby food too.”
