“No, stay. I’ve got it." She held it in place and rolled off me, vanished into the bathroom, and returned with a wad of TP. She carefully pulled the condom off of me and held me by the tip, using the tissue to wipe me mostly clean. "One sec."

I watched her go, admiring the way her lush, beautiful ass moved, naked and perfect. I heard water running, then Tea came back to bed—and the view of her body as she walked back to me was just as glorious. She slid under the covers, threw them over me, and then reached for me. I moved toward her, and she pulled my head onto her breasts.

"My turn to hold you," she whispered.

I moaned my delirious agreement with this plan, already heavy-eyed.

We stayed in that house for three days. We ordered delivery. We slept. We snuggled naked through long afternoon naps.

We had all the sex.

We had shower sex. Bathtub sex. Couch sex. Floor sex. Up-against-the-wall sex.

I ate her out until she came half a dozen times and finally begged me to stop, and then she sucked my brains out.

We just slept.

We talked about everything. Every story we could think of. Every secret. Every worry and doubt and fear, every dream and hope.

We had more sex.

By the end of the third day, we were both worn out and knew we needed a break to catch our breath and check in on people. So, on the fourth morning, I got dressed, grabbed cleaning supplies from a nearby supermarket, and we spent some time putting the house back the way Mama Livvie had it—clean, sparkling, and staged to perfection, with no sign anyone had ever been there; it was honestly hard to leave.

I took Tea to breakfast at a little diner not far from the OG Badd's location. We were sipping coffee when I realized something. "You know, this is our first actual date."

She stared at me, and then sputtered a shocked laugh, covering her mouth with a hand. "Wait, what?" She widened her eyes. "Holy shit—you're right!"

"Kinda weird to think about, huh?" I said.

"Very. We met and fell in love without ever going on a single date. How many people can say that?"

I cackled. "Most of my family, probably."

She set her coffee aside and took my hands. "I wanted to say thank you, Jax."

I frowned, puzzled. "For?"

"Loving me. Seeing me.” She waved a hand at the window overlooking the Passage. "Finding us the privacy to have that time together." She blinked hard. "God, I'm not used to being so emotional."

"It's called being a person, sweetheart," I said. "And you're allowed."

She rubbed her eyes with the heel of one palm, then took my hand again. "This is hard for me to say.”

I swallowed, suddenly nervous. "Oh—okay."

She squeezed. “God, what a bad way to lead up to it. No, honey. Nothing—nothing like you're thinking—the opposite, actually.” She licked her lips. "I want to stay here. In Ketchikan. I…I don't know where I'd live, though, is the problem. What I'd do."

"Well, Linus has remote work for us both, if nothing else. And he's gonna keep paying us, as I said." Obviously, I had relayed my part of the conversation with Linus before she'd arrived.

"I can't do nothing, but I don't know if I can…I've never not flown, y'know? But…I guess I might have a little case of the yips."

"So you take your time. See someone, if that would help. If you fly, it's for fun. Uncle Brock has a few planes, mostly seaplanes. You could go up in one of his when you feel ready. I know you have your own, too. Just…when you’re ready to fly again, it should be for the enjoyment of it, and nothing else.”

She licked her lips again and nodded. "I just…" a sigh. "I want to be back in that house with you." Her eyes met mine, hesitant, nervous. "Like, for always."

I grinned because I’d already had a similar thought and, perhaps somewhat impulsively, acted on it.

She frowned at me. "What's the look for?"
