Wizard hid a smile. She might be trying to discourage his efforts to draw her into a relationship, but she wasn’t pulling away from his touch. Her body was at odds with her emotions. If he played it right, he could sway both in his direction.

“Not even a little?” His hands moved to her hips, tugging her closer. Lowering his head, he nuzzled her neck. “I care about you more than a little. You’re fierce as fuck when it comes to the people you care about. I like that. A lot,” he whispered seductively against her skin.

Arching her neck, she allowed him to continue exploring it. “You wouldn’t like being in a relationship with me. I work too much. I’m hard to live with. I can be bossy …” Her husky voice filled his ear.
