Curiosity filled her expression. “Like a movie star?”

“Nope.” Wizard gave a bitter laugh. “He literally wanted to be a star. Dear old Dad got his wish about four months after my mother’s diagnosis.”

Why was he telling Natalia his personal shit? He had never talked about his parents with anyone.

Annoyed with himself, he glared at Arden when he saw her approaching.

“Is everything all right … Mama?” she asked, keeping her gaze on Natalia.

“Why wouldn’t she be?” Wizard snapped.

Doom’s head swiveled in his direction as he reentered the clubhouse, reacting to Wizard’s harsh tone.

Wizard checked himself.

“How about it, Natalia?” He shifted so Arden could see her friend more clearly. “You good?”

His lips quirked with amusement. Natalia wouldn’t admit she needed help if her ass were on fire.

“I’m good,” she assured Arden while looking as though she wanted to climb over him to escape.

“Beat it,” he ordered when Arden made no move to leave.

“Can I get you a drink?” Arden asked.

“Doom,” Wizard bit out through clenched teeth. “Get your woman.”

Doom didn’t need to be told twice. Wrapping an arm around his wife’s waist, he guided her back toward the bar.

“That was rude. What if I wanted a drink?”

Wizard raised a questioning brow. “Do you?”

“No, but that isn’t the point. What if I did?”

He could tell she was uncomfortable sitting so close to him and wanted an excuse to leave the booth without admitting why. He wasn’t touching her, though their bodies were only inches apart.

His gaze dropped to her chest. Her quickening breaths made the black lace covering them flutter against her golden skin. “I’d get you one. I want you to have anything you want,” he said suggestively.

Natalia seized the opportunity. “I want out.”

“My lady asks, and I obey.”

Sliding out of the booth, he left her just enough room to squeeze past him.

“Jerk,” she snapped, knowing he had deliberately made it impossible for her to leave without brushing against him. She stalked indignantly toward the bar.

“Natalia.”

The coldness in his voice stopped her. She turned to face him.

“Don’t get used to me being so accommodating.” Stepping forward, he ran his thumb over her bottom lip before she could react. “Most of the time, I’m a real bastard.”

Wizard nodded toward the bar. “Sit down and enjoy talking to Tink. Just don’t drink any liquor. I want you clearheaded when I fuck you.”

Natalia rolled her eyes. “You wish.”

Deadpan, he stared back at her.
