WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Fear was the last thing Wizard felt as he stared at her. She made him hot as hell. It took every ounce of willpower he possessed not to slide his hand from her knee to the pussy only inches away. He had already braved death by touching her knee.
Studying her, he caught the faint trace of a familiar scent.
“Natalia, have you been drinking?”
“I had a couple of glasses of wine,” she admitted.
“You had to get drunk to work up the courage to come here?”
Natalia made a face at him. “I drank the wine before I decided to come. To be honest, I needed it after Lucia told me she thinks Jesus is going to marry her.”
“Maybe he will.” He slid his hand a centimeter higher. “Several of The Last Riders are happily married. You should know. One of your employees is married to one.”
“Do you think Jesus will marry Lucia?”
From her skeptical expression, Wizard assumed she didn’t.
“Like I said, I don’t get involved in the brothers’ personal business.”
That was true. He didn’t interfere. He would lend them money, as he had done for Burn, but what they did with it was up to them.
The two women who had asked for his help today couldn’t have been more different. One wanted his assistance for her own benefit, while the other was trying to help someone she cared about.
Taylor had assumed she could fuck her way into keeping Burn from gaining custody of his son. It would be interesting to see what tactic Natalia used to bring Wizard over to her side.
“What do you want me to do, anyway?”
“If you ordered Jesus to stay away from Lucia and banned her from the clubhouse, would he listen?”
“Probably,” he admitted.
“Then that’s what I want you to do.”
“And what do I get in exchange for this favor?”
Angrily, she smacked his hand away from her thigh. “I want to protect Lucia, but not enough to have sex with you, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Wizard shook his head. “Your mind stays in the gutter where I’m concerned, doesn’t it?”
He almost laughed at her outraged expression. Natalia would have to admit she was the one who constantly brought up sex, not him.
“What would make it worth the effort?”
“Hmm …” Crossing his arms over his chest, he pretended to consider it. “I’ll make it my business for five dates with you.”
Her mouth dropped open. But before she could respond, he raised a hand to stop her.
“I’m only asking for dates. Whether we have sex is entirely up to you. I’m not saying I wouldn’t be willing if the urge strikes you. I’m simply agreeing to let you make the first move.”
“One date,” she bargained.
He gave her a sarcastic look. “One date with you wouldn’t be worth the trouble of convincing Jesus to find someone else—assuming Lucia is the woman I’ve seen him hanging around with when he’s supposed to be working on the bikes.”
“Two dates,” she said, as if the words left a bad taste in her mouth.
“Four,” he countered. “What if he’s really in love with her?”
