His expression darkened as he held her down. “How in the fuck did me asking if you meant what you said about my dick end up in this argument?”
“I’ll tell you how!” she snapped. “If you cared about me at all, you should be angry that I had any physical response to any man other than you! You think if you told me that Margarita or Chai aroused you, I wouldn’t be mad? I’d smash their faces in!”
Too late, she snapped her mouth shut, realizing what she had unwittingly revealed. The gloating expression filling his face had her struggling harder to get away.
“There’s no need to be jealous. You wear me out. I don’t have enough energy to look at another woman.”
“I’m not jealous!” she huffed. “It’s the principle of being in a one-on-one relationship. You think I don’t see you getting all googly-eyed when a woman with big tits comes near you?”
“You think I haven’t heard about the rating system you and Tink have?”
She stopped struggling, a flush flooding her cheeks.
“Arden told you?” she asked in embarrassment.
Wizard laughed in her face. “No. Doom overheard. You two have a rating system about which brother would take Doom’s or my place if one of us suddenly dropped dead or our dicks became incapacitated.”
“We were just joking around. It’s not like we would actually do anything about it, unlike you, titty whore!”
Lowering his mouth, he nuzzled her neck. “I wouldn’t do anything about it, either.”
Hearing the sincerity in his voice, she relaxed, her arms sliding around his neck.
“I meant what I said last night …”
Turning her head, she kissed him, letting the jealousy drain out of her.
“I thought you needed to get to work,” he whispered against her lips.
“I need your hose to put out my fire.”
CHAPTER 48
GOD’S GIFT TO WOMEN
Clicking onto another screen on his computer, Wizard continued going through the past year’s surveillance footage from the club room.
“How much longer are we going to do this?” Doom complained, sitting next to him at the desk.
“Until you find Stella or we see someone matching her description in the club.” Clicking onto another screen, Wizard continued searching for women with short black hair.
“I’ve got better shit to do. Wouldn’t it be much easier if Cornbread were here to point her out?”
Biting back a cutting remark, Wizard instead shot Doom an impatient look. “I don’t trust that fucker to point her out.”
Doom tilted his head to the side. “What’s got you in such a good mood this morning? Usually, you’d snap my head off for complaining.”
“Had a great night and a good breakfast.” Reaching for a pen, he noted the date and time when a woman who somewhat matched Stella’s description appeared on the screen. “Though, if you don’t shut the fuck up, my mood is going to switch fast.”
Thankfully, Doom heeded his warning, giving him several minutes of silence. A nagging thought had Wizard breaking the silence himself.
“I changed the work schedule this morning. Did you see it?”
“Yeah. Jesus isn’t going to be happy. You scheduled him to drive the truck to Treepoint Friday night. He won’t be back until Monday night. He’ll miss the party and have to work all weekend. What did he do to piss you off?”
“Nothing.”
“Bullshit.” Doom pointed at a woman on the computer screen, and Wizard made a note. “That job usually goes in the punishment bag. What gives?”
