“We were told to drive to the back, flash our lights three times, and someone would come out to get us. We did, and a dude got out of a car and sneaked us through a tarp covering the wall of a bedroom. Then he led us to the main club.”

The fucker had used his bedroom as the entryway for the women. Wizard frowned. When they had tried to find out how they had gotten inside, he had checked the tarp himself. It had been stapled shut. Whoever had done it must have removed the staples then replaced them after the women were situated in the club.

“He give you a name?”

“No.” All three shook their heads in unison.

Jena choked out, “I heard someone call him Cornbread.”

Wizard looked toward Doom. “Who in the fuck is—”

“He’s a new recruit.” Doom grimaced. “You haven’t met him yet.”

The fucker must be at the lowest level of becoming a Last Rider, or he would have recognized his nickname. Cornbread hadn’t earned the right to pull door duty—he was so fucking new—yet he had somehow managed to herd the young girls inside without getting caught.

“You have enough info on him for us to find him?”

“Yeah.” Doom nodded. “He’s been to several of the parties before he asked to join. I thought he changed his mind when he stopped coming around to hang out after I told him what he had to do to become a member.”

That Cornbread had stopped coming around wouldn’t have rung any warning bells after he’d learned the ins and outs of becoming a Last Rider. It was their fear tactic for weeding out the ones who wouldn’t make it to the end anyway.

“Can we go now?” Courtney’s frightened voice broke into his thoughts.

“Go.”

The three women didn’t have to be told twice. They took off running.

“Blue, Puck, and Tripp, put out the bonfire,” Wizard ordered then directed his gaze at Doom. “I want Cornbread in my office within the hour. Make it happen.”

“Will do.” Doom signaled to Buck and Burn.

Watching them head to their bikes, he took out his cell phone. Natalia still hadn’t called or responded to his text. Running a frustrated hand through his hair, he was fast losing patience with her silent treatment. Wanting to drive to her place instead of the club tested all his willpower.

Striding to where he had parked his motorcycle, he climbed on. Getting the information Cornbread held had to be his priority. Only he knew who had instigated sneaking the girls inside.

Turning on his bike, he started riding back to the club. Once he had the information, he could find a way to get off Natalia’s shit list.

Why do you still want to be with a woman who’s constantly busting your balls? he lamented to himself for the millionth time. As soon as the thought struck, he remembered how fucking beautiful she was when he fucked her.

Some things were just worth the pain of hellfire. Natalia was one.

The main problem was that he had never allowed her to see the real Wizard. He presented her with illusions he didn’t mind her seeing. Once she saw what he was really like, would she shut him out of her life like her other boyfriends?

His hands tightened on the motorcycle’s handlebars as he increased his speed. He enjoyed taking life to the limits, which was why Natalia held such a strong attraction for him.

She was the type of woman who made you take your life in your hands to call her yours. She was capable of leading the way to either heaven or hell. Since they had been together, he’d been scorched by her fire more often than he’d found bliss, yet the times she had taken him to heaven had been worth the pain.

Sadly, because he had ignored her calls today, she wasn’t going to be sending him to heaven tonight.

CHAPTER 45

FOOLS IN LOVE

Restlessly, Wizard strode around his office, waiting for Doom to arrive with Cornbread. The wait had his temper at a boiling point. Why was it taking over two hours to find the fucker? If Doom didn’t text in the next ten minutes, he would deal with the motherfucker in the morning. Glancing at his watch, he saw it was after midnight. Natalia would be in bed by now.

As pissed off as she was, this late at night, she probably wouldn’t answer her door if he did go there.

“Fuck it.” Snatching his keys off the desk, he headed for the door as it opened. He hastily took a step to the side as a man was thrown into the room.
