He moves inside me with hard thrusts, releasing a growl laced with lust. A fierce tenderness.

He’s staking a claim, and he’s also giving himself away.

His rough edges meet my softness. I’m on our bed. He’s above me, body pressing me into the mattress. Our moans blend. My hands reach for him. Sweat trickles down his neck, and I kiss the salt away. He anchors me with his strong hands. I feel his heat. I give in to his power.

My back arches.

His rhythm falters.

“Jolie...”

My name drips from his lips as his desperation gives way to surrender.

And we finish together.

And then we fall asleep as we give each other kisses, both still trembling. Both tangled in our own storm.

FABIEN

The lights of Kyoto fade away below us as our private jet takes to the skies. I lean back in my chair and let out a long sigh as the engines hum beneath us.

I glance over at Jolie sitting next to me. She’s already asleep, her hair fallen across her face. Her soft lips are gently parted.

Fuck, she’s so beautiful.

How could I have ever hated her?

The Castaways have done a lot wrong, and there are plenty of reasons to despise them, but bringing us together was one thing they did that was actually good, even if they thought it would be an impossible test. It’s kinda ironic.

I lean over and squeeze her hand. It’s a shame I have to wake the sleeping angel, but I need to tell her something.

Her eyes flicker open.

“Hey,” I whisper.

Jolie looks at me with so much love in her eyes.

God, I would burn the world for her.

“Hey, Fabien.”

“I don’t ever want us to spend another night apart, Jolie. I want you to move in with me.”

“What?”

“That penthouse the Castaways put us in, you remember it?”

“Of course I do, Fabien.”

“Well, I’ve bought it,” I say. “You said you were gonna miss it, and so do I. I bought it for us. I want us to live in it. A fresh start in our own place.”

She sits up. Her hand flies to her lips.

“You’re not joking, are you?”

“I’m not, Angel. You and me. I don’t ever want to wake up and wonder where you are. What do you think?”
