“I’m a virgin, Professor,” I squeak out, my voice nearly lost in the sounds of the bar. “I don’t know anything about…you know…sex…”

Okay. This is it. He’s going to grimace, get up, and walk out, leaving me sitting here by myself.

But to my surprise, he looks back at me like he’s intrigued. In fact, he raises his chiseled chin and narrows his eyes. “Is that right?”

I nod, feeling more embarrassed by the moment. “It’s the reason I took your class, so I could learn about…”

“Sex,” he says. I clear my throat and nod. I’m staring at the dirty floor now, but I can see out of the corner of my eye that he’s still looking at me.

“And not just sex. My body. I…I don’t know anything about it. How it works. What…feels good…”

His gaze is almost physical. It’s heavy and strong. I’m baring my soul to him, and he’s barely said anything. I feel like I’m balancing on a teeter-totter. This could go off the rails at any moment. So I focus on my breathing and try to remain calm.

“Why is that, Maisy?” he asks. There’s genuine concern in his voice. It’s comforting, like a warm tea with honey. Slowly, I manage to raise my eyes to his but just for a moment.

“My mom. She was very strict. I wasn’t allowed to date. Ever.”

Again, he nods. I can see him processing, but what is he thinking? God, if I could only hear his thoughts for one second! Am I just pushing him further away with every word?

I’m still hot all over. And now the naughty part of me is sizzling inside as I think about his big arms wrapped around me, holding me protectively, his rough hands caressing me in places I’ve never been touched. This man knows everything that I don’t. And deep down, I know that this is why I’m talking to him now. There’s a bad girl inside of me, and I just need a man—this man—to let it out.

But will he?

“You thought I wouldn’t like this, didn’t you?” he asks, sliding closer, a great warmth radiating from his body. The top two buttons of his shirt are popped open, revealing the chiseled form of his massive chest muscles with just the right amount of hair.

I’m feeling toasty now. “Yes.”

But again, my nervous energy swirls like a poison. It’s so hard to keep my eyes on his, so I try to look down, but Clark slips a finger beneath my chin and stops me. I gasp as our eyes meet. It’s something new that I can’t even explain. Almost like a bond being forged without a single word spoken.

“You couldn’t be more wrong, angel.” His words go straight to my core. My thighs are prickling all over now. There’s a wet feeling…down there. What is happening to me?

“Maisy, I’ve never wanted a woman more in my life.”

My vision blurs. I blink quickly. This is too much to handle.

I swallow hard and take a deep breath, but I can feel my blush spreading. I’m even starting to sweat. The muscles on either side of his sculpted jaw flex as he looks back at me. His eyes drag up and down my body, causing me to tingle all over.

I want more.

I want his eyes on me forever. I want to take off this red dress and show him everything.

“Clark…”

“I’ll teach you everything, Maisy,” he says. “Anatomy lessons. Private sessions, hands on, just you and me, in my office. And we’ll start tomorrow. Sound good?”

It’s a question, but not really. He’s telling me what’s going to happen, and I’m so enraptured by his presence—the way he talks to me, the way he looks at me, the way he radiates masculinity like a hero from a movie—that all I can do is nod.

“Yes. Sounds good.”

CLARK

“I’m a virgin, Professor…”

Maisy’s words struck me in the chest like a hammer and have stuck there since I left the bar. Now they’re bouncing around in my head as I replay my moments with her. I suspected as much when I first saw her, when I saw how innocent she was and how uncomfortable she was when that scumbag Matt kept hitting on her. But when she finally admitted it to me, the whole world tilted on its axis.

The thoughts I’m having about her are filthy. Dirty beyond anything she could possibly imagine. Part of me almost feels guilty for having them, but then I think back to the way she looked at the bar—how that red dress seemed to have been sculpted to the sweet curves of her gorgeous body. And then I realize the truth.
