Her lips tremble. For a girl as gorgeous as her, she sure doesn’t seem like she’s used to being hit on.
“Professor Durand…”
“I’ve wanted you since the moment I saw you,” I growl. She licks her lips and takes a deep breath, causing her breasts to rise. “And seeing you in that dress is too much to handle.”
All I have to do is ride my hand up her thigh and expose her. Then I can see it all. That cute little pussy she’s hiding behind such a thin layer of fabric. It’s right there, and it’s taking everything in me to hold myself back.
A tense moment hangs between us. I can’t be the one to speak. I have to let her.
But after what feels like an eternity, she finally looks away and shakes her head. “No, I can’t.” My stomach sinks into my feet. “You’re my professor, and it would be wrong of me.”
Taking my hand off her knee, she stands up to leave. The loss of touch between us is almost too much to bear. She won’t even look at me. She’s holding back for some reason, and it has nothing to do with the fact that I’m her professor.
So what is it then?

MAISY
My head started spinning when he put his hand on my thigh.
It’s hard to believe it, but that’s the most physical contact I’ve ever had from a man. And my body is still on fire as I turn to go. His hand was firm, and his skin was rough, but his touch was gentle—demanding and worshipping at the same time.
Am I doing the right thing getting out of here?
Mom would say I am, but of course she would. According to her, I shouldn’t have been in this bar to begin with. She would tell me that Clark’s just another ‘pussy hungry dude’ who doesn’t care about me and only has one thing on his mind.
But I just don’t get that feeling from him...
He didn’t kick Matt out of class just for hitting on me. He kicked him out because he knew Matt was one of those guys Mom warned me about, and he was protecting me.
So then why am I running away now?
I’m not scared of Clark. I’m scared of how Clark will react when I tell him the truth about me. When I tell him that I’m a virgin who has never even kissed a guy. I can already picture his expression when he finds out—the look of disgust as he instantly loses all interest in me.
Then where will I be?
But where am I now? Living in a fantasy land? Nothing has even happened between us yet, and I’m worried about losing him.
Still, I’ve already started walking away. It’ll be hard to stop now without looking like an idiot.
But fortunately, he takes the decision away from me.
A rough hand closes around my wrist, strong but gentle, sending a sweet jolt of electricity up my arm. I turn and look back to see Clark holding on to me, his eyes pleading with me not to go.
“Sit down, Maisy,” he says. “Just talk with me. You’ve got something on your mind, don’t you?”
Wow, not only is he gorgeous but he’s also apparently a psychic.
A fuzzy feeling has been forming in my tummy since I first saw him, and it’s still growing. Walking in heels has never been my forte, so I happily just give in and sit right back down beside him.
His size dwarfs me. I feel miniscule beside him. And you know what? I love it.
Ever since my dad left, there’s been this void inside me, like I was looking for a protector. Someone big who could take care of me. And until now, I never felt that. But in less than a day, Clark has already proven that he’s willing to use his authority to look out for me. I have no doubt he’d do so in every other way.
“Maisy,” he repeats. “Talk to me.”
My heart flutters like a moth in my chest. This is it. The moment of truth. I have to either tell him everything or run for the hills. And considering there’s no way I can run in these heels, I guess there’s only one decision left.
