“I will.” She almost smiled but then another contraction hit. This one was worse, much worse. She cried out and curled forward. I nearly fucking killed everyone in the room.
Dragan grabbed my arm. “Outside. Now.”
“Get off me.”
Roman stepped forward. “Brother.”
“No.”
“Viking.”
“I am not leaving her.”
Bryn looked up. “Please.”
That stopped me because her eyes were wet, not afraid but focused. “Please let them help me.” I couldn't breathe as she touched my face. “I'll be here.”
I leaned down and pressed my forehead against hers. “You call me.”
“I will.”
“If anything changes…”
“I know.”
“If you need me…”
“I know.”
“I love you.”
Her eyes softened. “I love you too.”
Roman took my shoulder. I started to resist but then let him. He dragged me outside. The door closed behind me and I lost my fucking mind. “What are they doing?”
Roman leaned against the wall. “Helping her.”
“I should be in there.”
“No.”
“She needs me.”
“She asked you to leave.”
“She didn't mean it.”
“She absolutely did.”
I started pacing. Lucien moved out of my way, smart. Volken stood near the opposite wall with his arms wrapped around his woman. Draugr sat in a chair. How the fuck was he sitting?
“Get up.”
He looked at me. “Why?”
“I don't know.”
“Excellent reason.”
