“Are you a Little?”

Are you a Little?
Are you a Little?
The words ran round and round in her head, and she couldn’t seem to pull them free.
She knew she should have answered him. The problem was, she didn’t exactly know the answer, did she? She thought she was. She certainly enjoyed reading about Littles and Daddies and Mommies.
She had a stuffed toy and Garfield pajamas, and it seemed she also had a stomping foot and hands that liked to clap at the thought of ice cream.
But did all of that add up to being a Little? She just didn’t know. She’d never had a chance to explore that side of herself. Charlie would’ve just laughed at her if she’d mentioned it to him.
No way had he been a Daddy.
She’d even kept her books a secret from him.
So no, she hadn’t known how to answer Ammo or if she’d wanted to. Because why did he want to know?
Was he a Daddy Dom? He must know about Littles and Daddies if he’d asked her, right? So perhaps he was, or perhaps he wasn’t.
She smacked her fists down on the bed in frustration.
This was so annoying! Sometimes she just hated her brain.
Once again, she was lying in her bedroom, hiding from her problems, letting them overrule her brain, with no idea what she was going to say or do.
She’d been in here all afternoon. Ammo had placed a tray of food outside her door with an order to eat about an hour ago. Aimee had managed to get up and carry it into the room, not wanting to leave it out there and risk him bringing it into her bedroom himself.
That was something she didn’t need. Not while her brain was a mess.
Unfortunately, the tray was still sitting on the bedside table, her stomach unable to handle eating. Her tummy might be slightly upset from eating too much ice cream earlier, but she’d never admit that.
Aimee still couldn’t believe that spoonful of ice cream had landed right on his nose. There’s no way she would have managed that if she’d tried.
And she’d laughed. Really laughed. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d done that.
Reaching for her e-reader, she opened it up to the latest CJ Bennett book. She’d been trying to read this book for the last few days without much luck.
Not because it wasn’t an amazing book, but because her head was a mess.
Usually, she used these stories to escape. To get away from all of her problems. But her problems just seemed to keep chasing her at the moment.
It was frustrating.
At least Ammo hadn’t seemed mad when she didn’t have an answer for him. In fact, he didn’t really seem to get mad much at her. At everyone else, sure. He’d seemed really angry at Sally-Anne today.
Although she was a bitch so who could blame him? How dare she slam her shoulder into Aimee as she walked out the door? Sure, she’d been mad about losing her job, but that wasn’t Aimee’s fault. Obviously, there had been plenty of complaints about her for Dr. Melton to fire her.
She’d always wondered how Sally-Anne had even gotten the job.
Picking up her phone, she called Kirsten.
“Hey, how are you doing?” Kirsten said, picking up.
“Oh, just grand. Except for the fact that I fainted last night at work.”
