“Why's the bathroom so hot?”
Bishop doesn't miss a beat.
“Because I just took a shower, dumbass.”
“Jesus. Just asking.”
I clamp a hand over my mouth.
“Whatever. Hurry up. Mom says if we're not at the table in five minutes, she's starting without us.”
“Be there in a minute.”
The door closes.
I hear Declan's footsteps retreat down the hall.
Then Bishop slides the curtain open.
He's grinning.
I glare at him. My socks are soaked.”
He looks down.
Sure enough, both feet are planted in a shallow puddle left behind by his shower.
His grin widens.
“Nice socks.”
“Bishop.”
“What? I like the reindeer.”
I look at the red-and-white socks Mom bought me last Christmas. “They're ruined.”
“They're wet, Becks. Not dead.”
I smack his arm.
He laughs and catches my hand before I can do it again. “Come here.”
“No. You almost got us caught.”
“Pretty sure you were the one who walked into the bathroom while I was naked.”
“You had a towel on.”
“Technicality.”
He helps me out of the tub, and I immediately peel off one soggy sock.
“I'm never speaking to you again.”
“That's going to make living together awkward.”
I look up.
