“Oh my God, that was excellent,” Louisa whispered, delighted.

I loved that I got to do that for her, but “Why hasn’t Has scared him off for you?”

“Oh he knows Has is—‘’ she looked up at me and her throat worked, “not my boyfriend.”

I felt a twinge, euphoria squeezed by reality. I wondered if Louisa would ever decide she’d rather give it a real shot with Has than lose him to someone else. Maybe she’d finally see it when they were living together.

I shifted gears to greet the others. I would’ve come straight from my shift at Eilidh’s, but needed to wash off the beer smell, so everyone else was already loose in that way that only happens when you’ve been partying for a while.

The music was louder than it needed to be, and there were empty bottles lined up along Louisa’s workbench like trophies.

“You’re late,” Brooks said, handing me a drink that tasted stronger than I was ready for.

“I was working.” I caught Scott saying bye to Louisa out of the corner of my eye. Good riddance, friend.

“Tragic,” Rachel said. “Catch up.”

“We’re about to play Never Have I Ever,” Brooks added. “I’ll call Ortiz so I can ask the right questions to get you on our level fast.”

Louisa

It was brilliant calling Christian. Brooks laid down the rules.

“Ortiz is going to kick the game off with 5 Never Have I Evers, and then we’ll start going around the room.” He put his phone on the table.

Christian opened with “Never have I ever jerked off to a FaceTime call.” The guys all started laughing. There was obviously a story there.

Will smiled and took a drink. So did I, wondering if he knew it was him.

“Never have I ever slept with someone who was married.”

That one surprised me. Will, Rachel, Miller, and Brooks all drank.

“She wasn’t wearing a ring,” Will said, embarrassed.

“I can confirm that realization did not go well,” Ortiz added. “Our boy spent an entire afternoon in the confessional. Father Michael ordered delivery while he was in there.”

Will laughed alongside everyone else, and Christian turned right into the next question. “Never have I ever slept with someone twenty or more years older than me.”

I brought my cup to my lips. “What? He was my professor, but it was a full year after I took his class.”

Will lifted his glass to me across the room. “She was 39, and I was legal. I’ve always had a thing for older women, I’m not ashamed.” He grinned.

“Never have I ever had sex on an airplane,” Christian said.

I raised an eyebrow at Will as I drank from my glass and he drank from his. Jackson asked if jerking off counted, and we all agreed it did, so he and Hasan both drank, which was hilarious to me.

“Never have I ever had a threesome,” Christian said.

“Dude, you are the only motherfucker who hasn’t had a threesome; we’re all drinking on that one,” Jackson laughed. It was true; we all drank. MMF, MFF, or both? I need to know, William!

Rachel went first. “Never have I ever come from oral,” she said, breaking out the big guns.

The guys all drank. Rachel and I looked at each other not drinking—Yeah, that tracks.

Will was judging Has over his glass. Not something Hasan is worried about.

“Never have I ever said the wrong name during sex.”
