I slowly turned and saw that crazy motherfucker standing half a block away in a black puffer jacket and gray beanie, staring at me like a bull seeing red.

“Oh, shit.”

Snoh started toward me. I glanced at the jewelry bag in my hand, then at him, then back at the bag.

I stepped toward the nearest storefront and carefully set the bag beside the building where it wouldn’t get trampled. By the time I turned around, Snoh was already there. I barely got my hands up before he hit me.

His shoulder slammed into my chest and sent both of us crashing backward. My boots slid across the snow-covered pavement, but I caught my footing before we went down.

“Motherfucker!”

“Good to see you too, Gray.”

His fist connected with my jaw, and my head snapped sideways.

Okay. Fuck being cordial.

I swung back, and my fist caught him across the cheek, staggering him just enough for me to shove him away.

People scattered, someone shrieked in the distance, and someone else immediately pulled out a phone because apparently witnessing two grown men beat the shit out of each other warranted footage.

Snoh came at me again, and we collided hard enough that my back slammed into the side of a parked SUV.

“You fucking asshole!”

“What the fuck is your problem?” I yelled, trying to wrangle him.

“You!”

He swung, and I ducked. His fist bounced off my shoulder, and I caught him around the middle. We stumbled into the street before he drove an elbow into my back.

I released him when pain shot through me. He shoved me… hard. I slipped, and my knee hit the iced pavement.

“You’re dating my fucking sister?”

And here I thought he was whooping my ass for the shit at the Olympic village.

I wiped my mouth with the back of my glove and stared at the smear of blood left behind.

“Yeah… I am,” I said, climbing to my feet.

His face twisted in rage. “You think that’s funny, Myers?”

I glared at him, wiping my mouth again. “Do I look like I’m laughing?”

“You need to stay the fuck away from Vera.”

“No.”

My quick response seemed to piss him off even more.

He charged. But I was ready that time.

We hit the ground together, and snow soaked through my jeans as we rolled across the sidewalk, trading punches like two fucking idiots who acted like they didn’t have public professional careers with ironclad morality clauses.

Snoh got on top.

I blocked one hit, but the second made it through, and my face exploded with pain.
