“That doesn’t matter. We aren’t trying to impress anyone. We’ll have some fun together. Titus will reserve our chairs for us,” Alessia said. A roar filled the room as the doors opened and people streamed inside.

“The returnees are entering. A wave of newbies will follow when Alaric finishes talking to them,” Carina explained.

“Oh, like when I was in the room?” Mara asked. Everyone went through the same welcoming process?

“Exactly!” Carina tipped her Mara back and drained her glass. “Come on, ladies. We can claim a great spot on the dance floor now.”

Mara looked for Darius and spotted him on the opposite side of the room, talking to a man holding a clipboard. She didn’t want to disappear without telling him where she’d gone.

Daddy?

He turned his head to meet her gaze instantly. Mara? Are you okay?

We’re going to dance.

Have fun, Little girl. Save a slow one for me.

“See. He knows now. Let’s shake our asses!” Alessia crowed, sliding off her stool as Titus set reserved signs on the bar at their spots. She linked her arms with Mara’s and Carina’s. The trio headed for the dance floor.

The dance floor filled slowly around them. Mara hadn’t enjoyed herself so much in years. Carina and Alessia danced like no one was watching and welcomed her to join their fun. Mara loved the infectious atmosphere of the club. How long had it been since she had this much fun?

She checked frequently on Darius. Each time, she found him concentrating on her from different areas. He was making sure she was safe, watching over her. His vigilance allowed Mara to push away her worries about being in the crowd after her abduction.

The music slowed. Couples flowed onto the dance floor together as Alessia, Carina, and Mara headed back to their seats to rest and get something to drink. Darius appeared in front of her on the edge of the crowd.

“Dance with me, Zoí mou.” His dark brown eyes held a wealth of caring and attraction, warming Mara’s core.

She nodded and let him sweep her into the swaying partiers. He wrapped his arms around her, drawing her against his hard, powerful frame. Darius moved divinely. Leading her in a simple dance that convinced her to relax against him fully, Darius demonstrated skills she wouldn’t have dreamed he’d have.

What accountant was this coordinated?

A flashback to having sex with Darius burst through her mind. She should have realized his finely tuned moves weren’t confined to the bedroom.

Darius chuckled, and Mara drew back to see what he found funny. He winked at her before pressing his lips to hers in a quick, sizzling kiss.

Little girl, making love to you everywhere will be a delight. Dancing is no more than having sex with your clothes on.

Mara hoped no one could see her face turn red. His mental communication was quite handy. She decided to tempt him a bit and stepped closer to his torso, erasing the scant space between their bodies. Darius instantly tightened his arm around her waist to keep her close. She could feel his response against her, and her juices flooded her panties. Darius’s nostrils flared, and the red light in his eyes blazed.

“Your night out with friends is not going to last long.”

“Sorry?” she said, not really apologizing.

“Lying is a bad idea, Little girl.” He lifted her off her feet and slid her body against his, reminding her of every hard inch of his frame.

Suddenly, all she wanted was to be alone with him. “Can we leave….” Before she could add soon, Darius boosted her over his shoulder and carried her off the dance floor. When she struggled, his hand landed sharply on her bottom. Carina and Alessia squatted lower to the carpet to make eye contact and wave goodbye as Darius carried her past the bar where her friends waited for her.

He didn’t stop until they reached the elevator down to the parking garage. After stepping in and selecting a button, Darius lowered her feet to the floor and tugged her close to deliver a sizzling kiss. When he lifted his head to meet her gaze, the passion in his expression thrilled Mara. No one had ever wanted her that badly.

Feeling dangerous and sexy, Mara wrapped her hand around the back of his head and pulled Darius’s mouth to hers once again. When he ripped his lips from hers, she could only stare at him as her body throbbed for his intimate touch. “I need you, Daddy.”

“Fuck the car,” he growled. “Close your eyes, Little girl.” He pressed one large hand over her eyelids when she followed his directions as he wrapped an arm around her waist, raising her from the ground.

The sensation of a cold wind blowing her hair as strange sounds and scents flew past her made her curious. His protective fingers prevented her from checking out what was happening around them. When something shrieked next to her, she buried her face against his shirt. Maybe she didn’t want to see. Shadow walking felt dangerous.

“We’re home, Zoí mou.”

She looked up at him, erasing everything else from her mind. Focusing entirely on him, Mara said, “Make love to me, Daddy.”
