Grabbing her bag, she headed downstairs. As she walked out of the hospital, she saw Tyler's car pulling up.

She jumped inside with a smile on her face and quickly fastened her seat belt.

"Why do you look so happy?" Tyler asked suspiciously.

She turned to face him. "I did something. I'm not sure you'll like it. But I think it was a good idea. At least, I hope it was a good idea." She shook her head, refusing to let the doubts creep in. She was taking a chance, and that wasn't something she normally did, but she'd done it, and she wasn't going to have regrets yet.

"You're not making me feel as happy as you look," he said dryly. "What did you do, Rachel?"

"I played a card."

"What card?"

"My doctor card. I scheduled a meeting with Dr. Levitan."

"What? Why would you do that?" he asked, shock and annoyance running through his dark eyes.

"Because I want to talk to him, and it worked, Tyler. He agreed to see me at four o'clock tomorrow."

"What exactly did you say?"

"I told him—actually, I told his receptionist—that one of my patients raved about the incredible work he was doing. I've worked with veterans for several years and I'm interested in exploring a job at a private health center, or perhaps we could consult if there aren't any openings."

Tyler gave her a long look that was still irritated, but there was also a gleam of admiration. "Well, that wasn't a bad story," he conceded. "But you were with me yesterday under another name. Don't you think that will be odd?"

"I never gave my name to the receptionist at Waverly yesterday. I just gave it to Megan. And Dr. Levitan's office told me to come directly to the fourth floor and check in there, so I'm not going to be anywhere near Megan's office or that main lobby area."

"I still don't think it's a good idea."

"Why not?" she challenged.

"Because they know that Jack disappeared, they know that he got into my car, and they can probably trace my license plate."

"Which goes to you, not to me."

"You were with me."

"I doubt they could see me from where they were."

"Levitan has to be getting nervous with Jack in the wind. He has obviously moved some of the action out of Waverly to an unknown warehouse."

"Which is why we're running out of time," she argued.

"You said you were from East River. He knows Jack was treated there. I'm sure he knows you were his doctor. He'll be on his guard the moment you walk through the door. He probably just agreed to see you to find out what you know."

"You're right about all that. But what does it matter if he suspects me of having an ulterior motive? I'm still in the door. I can ask questions. I can gauge his answers. I can speak in medical terms that might reveal information he doesn't realize he's giving out."

Tyler let out a sigh. "You're very persuasive."

"It's a good idea, Tyler. And if you don't want him to know the FBI is investigating him, then I'm your best bet to get on the inside."

"When is this meeting?"

"Tomorrow at four o'clock. He's going to give me ten minutes."

"We still have time to think about it. Depending on what information we get from Dr. Prescott, your plan might need to change."

"Then it will change," she agreed. "But if it doesn't, then I'll meet with him." A new idea came into her head. "Maybe I could plant a listening device in his office. That would be really helpful, wouldn't it?"
