“I’m going back inside.” Izzy grinds the cigarette out under her boot. “Coming with?”

“In a minute,” Florence says.

Izzy drops a parting kiss into her hair. She takes the empty bottle with her as she disappears inside.

Alone in the middle of the street, Florence looks up at the moon. It’s almost full. Her fingers are clumsy as she pulls out her phone to take a photo of it. When she unlocks her screen, there’s a new email blinking at her from her inbox. Her fingers move on autopilot to open it, her breath catching in her throat when she reads the subject line.

Subject: A new opportunity

Dear Ms Gibson,

I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to you on behalf of Saturn Records. After following your career over the last few months, we would like to set up a call with you to speak about a potential opportunity. As a recently founded label, we are dedicated to finding new, diverse talent, and we would love to work with you as an exciting new solo artist. Please let me know when you are available to discuss further details.

Between her racing heartbeat and the alcohol in her system, it takes Florence three tries to fully grasp the email’s content. When she does, she lets out a slow breath. An exciting new solo artist. The words sink like stones to the bottom of her stomach.

With a decisive swipe of her thumb, she closes out of her inbox. She’s too drunk to make any business decisions. She takes a picture of the moon, texts her mum that she’s going to call her back tomorrow, and goes back inside.

because so many ppl are asking: no we did not take any photos/videos bc that is creepy but here are some observations: 1) florence’s voice melted my brain, 2) i want to put miray tezel in my pocket she is SO TINY, 3) izzy dabrowska could step on me and i would say thank you

Luca is the first one up the next day. She didn’t drink too much the night before, only enough to get tipsy, but with the exception of Miray, the same can’t be said for the others. As she grabs her overnight bag and changes into her running clothes in the bathroom, none of them even stir.
