“Do you want to see your other surprise?” I ask.

She pouts, stroking Preziosa’s head. “Not really, Colt. I’m happy here all day.”

I laugh, holding out my hand. “G, we really have to work on that sassy mouth of yours.”

That spark in her eyes ignites, sending a shock into my chest. “Unless you want me to choke on that big dick of yours, I’ll never stop running this mouth.”

I’m already fighting a tension headache after the blue balls I gave myself. This is worse than the Viagra experience.

“Come,” I order, leaving no room for questions.

She gives her sheep a sweet goodbye, and she follows behind me to the stable opposite.

I open up the door and pull Gianna against my side. “Every cowgirl needs her cowboy, but they also need their own horse,” I tell her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

“Shut. Up. You bought me a horse?” she squeals with excitement.

“You told me you wanted to help me on the ranch; you needed your own girl.”

“What’s her name?” G asks.

“Whatever you’d like her to be called. She’s the best of the best.”

My chest swells with pride. Seeing my girl happy with her first horse, the fact that she’s seeing her future right here with me. I could die happy.

She taps her nail against her lip. “Belleza. It means beautiful.”

“Just like you,” I whisper.

She spins in my arms, running her hands up my chest. “I never want to leave Sterling Ranch.”

“I ain’t letting you. You’re mine, wife.”

Her cheeks flush a deep red.

“If we weren’t married already, I’d propose and marry you tomorrow,” I admit.

The thought came to me while she was sleeping; I’ve had a lot of hours to myself this week. But those vows we said originally, they’re us.

I don’t want to change that, or fix who we are.

“Please don’t make me go through another wedding, Colt. I’ll re-do the honeymoon though.”

I can’t hide my grin. It’s like she read my thoughts. In the time I’ve had to think about life and what I want, I've been very productive. I promised to treat my wife like a Queen.

Before Gianna, I never took a break. It was work and protecting my family. She’s taught me to relax, that there is more to life than money and power.

“Can I take her for a ride?” she asks.

“So these are more pre-surprises. They were my original present to you, but over the last week, I’ve pulled some strings. Bought some things. Organized some stuff. And we really need to go so we don’t miss it.”

Her eyebrow raises. “What are you up to?”

“Trying to make you the happiest woman alive.”

Her arms loop around my neck, dragging me down for a kiss. “I already am, Colten. You haven’t got to keep trying.”

I lift her into my arms and carry her out of the stables. I've already packed everything she needs, and the luggage is already on the jet.
