I need to know how bad her family has hurt her over the years. How much it’s going to take for me to help her heal.
“Probably last year? At a guess. She doesn’t always tell me,” Dom says quietly.
I snap in a breath. It makes me sick to my stomach what Gianna has had to endure and the guilt she now carries because she believes she let him do this to her.
“Do we have permission to shoot anyone who may be residing in the properties?” Mikhail’s harsh Russian accent comes through.
We all turn to Dom. His mouth doesn’t open, frozen on the spot.
I slam my fist down on the table. “Dom, you’re in fucking charge of LA right now for Gianna,” I growl. “Make the motherfucking call before I do.”
“Yes. Shoot on sight.” Dom confirms.
He has a lot to learn from his sister.
“Hunter, you and Jett take the lead on Max’s house with the guys downstairs. Mikhail, focus your men on Fabio’s and the warehouses,” I order, glancing at the map. Gianna’s father's property is the closest entrance to here. “Me and Dom will take the entrance at Vito’s.”
I don’t bother waiting for an answer; my feet are moving towards the elevator.
I’m done waiting. I need my wife back. I need her back in my arms so everything can be right in the world again. I’m getting down into those tunnels, or I’ll die trying.
And I’m going to buy her that eight-million-dollar damn yacht she wanted. Hell, I’ll get her an island and name it after her, then she can take as many vacations as she wants.
I’m never going to let her out of my sight. I’m going to make her the happiest woman on this planet, and that’s a damn promise.
No one is ever going to hurt Gianna ever again. Not even me.
I can’t let her leave this earth without telling her that I love her. That I’m petrified of ever losing her. The way she kissed me in the car, it was like she was trying to tell me she loved me without saying the words. I felt it. And I almost fucking said them.
And what if I never get the chance to tell the only woman I’ve ever loved that I love her more than life itself?
I’m jabbing the button for the private elevator. The walls feel like they’re closing in on me. The rage mixing with the pain.
Dom steps beside me. “They need her alive for something, Colt. She’s alive. They’d have killed her on sight otherwise.”
Does he seriously think that intel is going to help me?
“And what about my cousin?” I say under my breath, so Jett can’t hear. If he loses his brother, I’m not sure how he will cope.
When Tate left to forge a new career in New York years ago, Jett hated it. He was so damn miserable on his own on that ranch. That’s why he was and is always at Sterling Ranch. Because Tate didn’t come back the same man he left as.
Hunter grips my shoulder. “Don’t do anything reckless, bro. I need you to make it out of this.”
“I’ll do what it takes to get my wife back, Hunter. Same as you would for Lola,” I say, my voice low.
We all risked our lives to bring Lola back to him, and I expect the same in return. What I feel for Gianna is no less than what he feels for Lola.
We might be different. We might show our love differently. Hell, we haven’t even said the words.
Doesn’t mean it’s not there. It doesn’t mean I can even think about living without her.
I need her not to go back on her promise. She said she had a fight left in her.
Please, baby. Keep fighting.
