I toss my phone in the center console. “I didn’t text him to tell him I got to LA.”
He blows out a breath. “He’s got it baaaad for you, sis.”
I punch him hard in the arm with my ringed fingers, making him cry out. “He does not. He’s just…”
“Protective? Obsessed?” he finishes for me.
“Dramatic,” I joke.
Dom rolls his eyes. I’m sure I taught him how to do that before he even turned three.
“He’s being all hot and possessive over you.”
I swallow, glancing out of the window at the tiny clouds passing by. “I found out last night he was sleeping with Romeo,” I say under my breath.
“What! I fucking knew Romeo was gay.”
“Yep.”
“Is that an issue for you? His past?”
I turn to face Dom as he runs a hand through his black hair to slick it back. “It’s not an issue if it’s in his past.”
“But…” Dom presses.
I hug an arm around my stomach. “What if it’s not in the past? What if all of this is for show with me? And him and Romeo are conspiring against us to take LA?”
Dom rapidly blinks at me. “You sound like our father, G. Not everything and everyone is plotting your demise.”
I arch an eyebrow. “Really? Because, so far, it seems that way.”
“You like Colten, don’t you?”
I swallow. “No.”
“You’re a terrible liar, G.”
“Fine. Yes. I like the cowboy,” I admit, trying to hide my smile, but the heat creeping up my neck is going to give me away.
“Then, why don’t you maybe let your guard down? Not all the way. Just a little? Get to know Colten more. Explore it with him; you’ve been locked away from men, relationships, sex, all of it. You have to have fun, and Colten seems to be providing that; you’re fucking glowing, sis.”
For Dom to say this, he has to mean it.
“I don’t glow; I’m not a vampire.”
He pinches the bridge of his nose. “You’re incredibly stressful, Gianna.”
“But you love me anyway,” I tease.
“I do. Now, let's get this circus of hell over with.” He nods towards Dad’s road.
I tap my nails on the steering wheel. “You stay in the car, Dom,” I tell him.
“Not a fucking chance, G. Not a chance.”
I hold up my hand and lock eyes with him. “Little brother, that was an order, not a question. This is my mistake, my consequences to deal with, and I’m not letting him take his anger out on you again.”
He slams his fist into the dash of my beautiful Rolls.
