Trying to give? I think he’s already got one. Lunatic. And I'm crazy for letting him come inside me. I can’t help it; it’s hot, and my horny brain gets scrambled. I have to hope and pray my cycle tracking app works.

I close my eyes. “Not now, cowboy. I am out of my depth here.”

“No, you aren’t. You can do anything, viper. Whether that’s killing a man in cold blood, or cuddling a friend's baby because she’s struggling. You’ve got a very versatile set of skills.”

I look up at him through my lashes, taking a step closer. “Tell me more about this breeding kink.”

His finger trails along my cheekbone. “It means lots more of my come inside you.”

I suck in a breath, and Noah jumps. My heart starts to race as I gently rock him again. He’s so damn cute. Exactly what the word was meant for. Maybe… having one of my own one day wouldn’t be so bad.

“Okay. Change the subject.” I swallow. “Is Jett the father?”

Colten glances over his shoulder, then back at me. “Nah. He’s not.”

My mouth forms an ‘o’.

Interesting.

“It’s a long story. They’re just friends, so they say,” he continues.

Colt wraps his arm around my shoulder and turns us to face the mountains.

“Beautiful, ain’t it?” he mutters.

“It is. I have to say, it beats LA.”

The peace here is perfect.

“And yet you’re running back there tomorrow.”

I roll my eyes. “My life is there, Colt. I have responsibilities that I can’t ignore.”

He hums in response as the sun starts to disappear behind the rocks.

I know what’s waiting for me back in LA, and I'd rather be here watching the sunsets as the hot breeze hits against my skin. My stomach drops when I think about tomorrow.

But that isn’t the life I was given.

CHAPTER SIXTY

Colten

Gianna heads back to my house with her brother to pack up her car for tomorrow, while I help Ace tidy up the mess left by the dinner party. And G was right: when Dom came in to collect his sister, Romeo was totally eye fucking him.

“What happened earlier?” Ace quizzes.

I shove the trays into the trash, glancing over at Romeo on his phone still at the table. “She knows. Romeo told her.”

His mouth drops open. “Oh, fuck. But you ain’t still…”

“No,” I snap. “That stopped before I even married G.”

“Then, it is what it is, bro.” He shrugs, like it’s nothing.

“He had no right to tell her like that,” I reply.

Romeo looks up from his phone, and I shake my head, my anger returning. Heading over to the table, I grip the back of the chair opposite him. “You need to keep your damn mouth shut, Rome.”
