Sutton was tiny, like she was no taller than 5’3”. To know her little ass was the one talking shit to Benji made it even funnier. I gave Benji a pointed glance as I listened to Sutton’s body. That was why he was so worried. Sutton was pregnant, and he knew it. From the baby’s heartbeat, she sounded very early. Like a week at most. Vampire hearing allowed us to hear the heartbeats of babies while they were in the stomach, and because vampire babies developed a lot faster than humans, it didn’t take long for babies to have heartbeats.

“Where the fuck is my sister?” her little ass asked, marching over to me like she could beat my ass, bringing my attention to Sutton.

“Dante kidnapped her,” I answered, raising my brow slightly. “The vampires that came in here, did they say anything that stuck out to you?”

“Umm, it was a woman, and she had two other guys with her. She was looking through Benji’s stuff, trying to find something, but she didn’t say what. The two guys were searching for me.”

What the fuck was really going on? Why would a random female vampire be searching in Benji’s house? What was she looking for? If it was money, she had to know better than to think Benji kept money in his house. My mind started to wander. None of this shit was making sense. First, Dante being a vampire, then the sirens, and now we had vampires working against us too. Yeah, it was some foul shit going on, and I wasn’t fucking with it.

“Did you see her face?” Tahji asked.

“Yeah, but I’ve never seen her before.” Sutton shrugged.

“We gotta get to River Side,” I said as a bad feeling began to settle in my stomach.

“Oh yeah,” Sutton said, wagging her finger at me. “2324 River Side. She mentioned that address.”

“That has to be where Quinny is at,” I said, looking at my brothers.

“Right, but I don’t think we should leave Sutton here either. Whoever is after her has a key. They can come in at any time. It’s not safe for her,” Benji pointed out.

He was right. As long as whoever it was had a key, none of our houses were safe.

Sutton’s eyes narrowed as they bounced between the three of us. “I want to go. If Quinny is in danger, I need to be there.” She placed her hands on her hips.

I looked at Benji. He was going to have to be the one to tell his pregnant soulmate she couldn’t come. “She don’t know, do she?”

“Nope,” Benji responded. “Sutton, you can’t go,” he replied evenly, with a firmness to his tone.

Sutton giggled menacingly. “You can’t stop me from going anywhere, Benji.”

“Sutton, don’t piss me off right now. I be letting you make it with a lot of shit. Stop fucking trying me!” Benji snapped.

Sutton, unmoved by Benji’s outburst, tilted her head, looking him up and down before moving to stand directly in front of him. “I know your little fucking secret, Benji, and the only reason I know is because that bitch came in here telling them to be careful with me.”

Benji frowned. “What chu talkin’ about, Sutton?” he nervously asked.

“I’m fucking pregnant, and you know it!” she said, mugging him in the head. “I can’t believe you got me pregnant the first time we fucked. What kind of sick shit is that?” Sutton dramatically threw her hands up, then fell into Benji’s chest, crying.

Without missing a beat, Benji picked up Sutton’s body, cradling her in his arms. He kissed her tears away as he whispered to her. It was odd seeing him be so affectionate. Even when he was with Melinda for all those years, he hadn’t been the most loving mate. It was something I’d heard Melinda complain about a lot. Benji looked at peace with Sutton. The two of them together had added a glow to each of their auras. Seeing Benji holding Sutton was making me miss Sutton even more. It was time for me to go get my soulmate back.

“Let me down.” Sutton squirmed in his arms after a few more minutes. Benji gently placed her back on her feet. “Let me tell your neglectful ass something. If you think I’m going to be raising this damn baby while you pop in and out when you feel like it, you’re outta your fucking mind. I’ll go find another vampire and have him playing stepdaddy. I’m not playing with you, Benji!”

I glanced at my other brother. A darkened expression glazed over his face as he peered down at Sutton. His fangs slipped from his mouth as he said, “Do it. I dare you,” he growled, making Sutton step back.

“Benji, you can stay here with Sutton while Tahji and I go find Quinny.” I loved my brother, but I couldn’t stand here any longer knowing I had the exact address of where my soulmate was. I knew Benji would have been worried about Sutton if he came with us. He’d be distracted, and that wasn’t good for any of us.

“If you need me, call me,” Benji said while nodding his head but keeping his eyes locked onto Sutton.

It was safe to say Benji had met his match in Sutton. She might have been smaller than the average female, but she carried herself like a female twice her size. Honestly, that was just the type of woman Benji needed. He’d run over females when they let him. You had to have a backbone to deal with Benji.

“We will,” I answered as Tahji and I turned to head out the door.

“Wait!” Sutton yelled, and we turned back around. Her facial expression had softened as she said, “Kenji, I’m trusting you to bring my sister back. Quinny and Emberly are all the family I have. If something happened to them, I’d go crazy.”

“Trust me, I understand. I promise I’m going to bring her back unharmed.”

“And if you don’t, you know I’m going to fuck you up? I got a lot of garlic back home, and I’m not above using it on any of you,” Sutton threatened me, and I snickered.
