“Yeah,” Holden says, voice strained, breathing heavy. His body is nearly pressed to Toren’s but his hand finds my inner thigh, pushing it out and down into the mattress. He’s only lightly holding me, but the difference in pressure between the two is somehow more intense.

Holden looks to Toren again, his eyes half-lidded, mouth parted, and another idea takes over my imagination.

“Kiss,” I beg, half-incoherent, not completely sure who I’m begging for it from.

“Don’t you already have enough of me, doll?” Toren smiles, all teeth, sharp canines glinting as he torturously curls his fingers inside of me. “He’s here to be nice to you, Lily. Say something nice, pup.”

Holden’s voice is shaky. “God, Lily—you look so beautiful.”

I moan, clenching again around Toren’s fingers. It sounds and feels obscene as he presses a third finger in, only teasingly as my body tries to crunch with strain.

Toren pushes my body back into the mattress, hand returning to lock around my throat as he raises up and hovers over me.

“Squirming already? He only said four words to you, Lil.” He laughs, that smoky condescending tone finally pushing me over the knife’s edge he’d had me suspended on. I ride the seemingly endless wave, thrashing in his grip.

“Thaat’s iiit, Lil.” He drawls out the words, slow and sensual. “Just like that.”

My orgasm goes on for too long, Toren dragging it out until I hit that point of too much. I have a feeling he’d push on for more if we didn’t still have an audience.

The reminder makes me blush, eyes darting to where Holden was a moment ago, now where an empty spot remains. Toren catches my sightline and smirks. “He’s in the bathroom. Think he needed to relieve himself.”

“Fuck off,” Holden yells, muffled through the door, before the shower kicks on. It makes Toren smile—a real one this time, which makes the warm syrupy postorgasm bliss last longer, my body melting into the bed again. I gaze up at Toren where he still hovers over me.

“Are you going to have sex with me?” I ask.

He shakes his head, his face growing softer and softer until it sinks into an almost melancholy state. “No, Lil. Not tonight.”

I nod. “Okay.”

He turns his back to me, grabbing his bag off the floor and searching through it before tossing me a gray hoodie with Waterfell University printed across the front in big, bold collegiate lettering.

Holding it close, I sink my knees into the mattress.

“Was that . . . okay?”

Toren hesitates for a moment, freezing as he closes his eyes and takes in a slow, heavy breath. He spins back to me, hands pressing to the tops of my thighs as he lowers himself to my eye level.

“More than okay. You’re perfect, Lil,” he says, pressing a kiss to my forehead, solid and warm, lingering there for a breath. “Always have been. Always will be.”

He flicks my nose playfully as he pulls back and something warmer grows up my chest.

I slip on the hoodie, while Toren knocks on the bathroom door, Holden opening it and stepping out for them to switch places.

Holden is smirking as he strides over to me, half naked in sweatpants.

“Thanks for that.” He nods to the bed, like there’s something still physically there to represent what we just did. I blush further under his playful gaze. “I didn’t realize Toren had it in him.”

I should say something, defuse any lingering tension, but I can only nod.

“Don’t worry, Lily,” he says. “You’re overthinking it.”

“Are you still my friend?”

His eyes brighten. “Oh hell yeah, pretty girl. Always.”

Toren comes out in just his towel, before dropping and sliding on a pair of boxer briefs. He turns out the lamp in the corner, casting the room in darkness, except for a show on the TV screen still glowing. Shark Tank the title card says.

“It helps him sleep,” Toren whispers to me as he slides into bed next to me.
