I turn in my seat.

“After that, little burglar, you and I are going to have a conversation.”

“About what?”

I give her a look.

She gives me one right back.

Oh, she's going to be a handful.

“About why you were in my house.”

Her chin lifts.

“And if I don't want to tell you?”

I lean back, settling into my seat.

“I've got you on tape, sweetheart. So you can talk to me, or we can have this conversation with the authorities.”

She mutters something under her breath.

His mouth twitches.

I glance through the windshield as the SUV approaches the gates of the Damned Sinners clubhouse.

The compound is larger than I expected. A tall fence surrounds the property, cameras watch the entrance, and several motorcycles are parked outside a substantial building.

A man approaches the driver's window, exchanges a few words with Razor, then steps back.

The gates open.

I'd found plenty of information about the Damned Sinners during my research. Much of it contradicted itself.

Depending on which article you believed, they were either dangerous criminals or the only people in Roseburn Falls willing to get their hands dirty for the right reasons.
