I squeezed him all at once, my muscles clamping tight, and he fucked me through my aftershocks and his orgasm. When silky, wet heat filled my channel, I gasped at the long-forgotten sensation.

“Promise I may do it again, whenever I want?”

“Yes. Whenever you want.”

“Nobody else,” he said with a catch in his voice. “It’s not safe.”

“That’s not the reason.” I looked at him over my shoulder.

“No,” he agreed, and I saw the shudder. “I don’t want you to see anyone else but me.”

“Then I won’t. And you don’t either.”

“I promise,” he whispered and then collapsed across my back.

Because I could since I was big and strong, even as hurt as I still was, I held us both up. The gush of fluid when he eased free was a reminder of what I had allowed, and he moved quickly to turn the shower on.

“Come here. Let me take care of you.”

He was speedy with the mesh sponge and the removable showerhead and much more careful with the scrapes and bruises on my body than I had been, and I was in and out quickly. Once I was in bed, I was given a couple of Tylenol, directed to drink the glass of water, and then I was on my side in the dark, the lights of the city the only illumination in the vast room.

“You can watch TV,” I mumbled as he spooned against my back, his groin pressed to my crease, face in my hair, bicep tucked under my cheek, and his hand on my chest. “It won’t bother me.”

“No, I want to sleep with you, Duncan. I’ve been waiting.”

I grunted as my eyes fluttered closed and he settled around me.

“I have,” he insisted.

“I’m glad,” I assured him. “Kiss me good night.”

“Turn your head so I can.”

I leaned back, and he lifted up. The kiss was sweet, just a brush of lips, but somehow very intimate.

“Go to sleep, baby.”

And I did, safe in his arms.

Iwoke to the sound of Aaron swearing.

“I’ll leave already,” I called out as I rolled over onto my back, groggy with sleep. It was an overcast gray day, but I had slept in, so it was already good. “Don’t be mad.”

“Shut up!” he yelled from the bathroom.

I yawned and stretched, and when he came striding out of the bathroom dressed for … I wasn’t sure, I couldn’t keep from grinning.

He gave me a dismissive wave. “Don’t say anything.”

“You look hot,” I said, sitting up and scrubbing my eyes with the heels of my hands before taking in the sight of him again. “Where ya goin’?”

He put on the helmet he’d carried under his arm. “To a charity polo match.”

“That sounds like fun,” I joked. “So, I’ll just hang out here till you—”

“You wouldn’t want to come with me, would you?”
